(استوصوا بالانصار خيرا- او قال: معروفا-؛ اقبلوا من محسنهم، وتجاوزوا عن مسيئهم).
Ali bin Zaid says that some (objectionable) matter regarding the chief of the Ansar reached Mus'ab bin Zubair (may Allah be pleased with him). He intended to speak harshly to him, but just then, Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) arrived and said to him: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say: "Accept my advice regarding the Ansar Companions; treat those among them who do good with kindness, and pardon those who make mistakes." (Upon hearing this) Sayyiduna Mus'ab (may Allah be pleased with him) threw himself down from his bed, placed his cheek on the ground, and said: The command of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) is upon my head and eyes. Then he let the Ansari go.

It is narrated from Asim bin Suwaid bin Yazid bin Jariyah Ansari, he says: Yahya bin Saeed narrated to me from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: The chief of the Banu Ashhal tribe, Sayyiduna Usaid bin Hudair, came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and spoke about the household of Banu Zufar, in which most of the people were women (i.e., there were few men). The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) distributed some wealth among the people and gave a share to Banu Zufar as well. (Upon hearing Usaid’s words) the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:“Usaid! (The matter is that) you did not contact us earlier, and what we had is now finished. Now, when you hear that I have received grain, come to me and remind me about these household members.”So, as much as Allah willed, Sayyiduna Usaid waited. Then, grain was brought to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) from Khaybar, which included barley and dates. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) distributed it among the people. The narrator says: Then he distributed among the Ansar and gave them a lot, and then he distributed among the household of Banu Zufar and gave them a lot as well. Sayyiduna Usaid (may Allah be pleased with him) thanked you and said: O Messenger of Allah! May Allah grant you an excellent and the best reward. Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said to Usaid:“O group of Ansar! May Allah grant you also an excellent and the best reward, for according to my knowledge, you are chaste and patient people, (but remember this much) after me, you will soon see injustice in the distribution of wealth and in matters of authority (and governance), so be patient until you meet me at the Pond.”Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:“There is no harm for a woman who stays in the houses of the Ansar or in the house of her parents.”

Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that a man came to the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) and said:“I am afflicted with poverty (and destitution).”(And in another narration, he said:“I am penniless.”) The Prophet sent a message to his wives, and they replied:“By the One Who has sent you with the truth, we have nothing except water.”Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:“Whoever will host him, may Allah have mercy on him.”An Ansari companion, who was called Abu Talhah, said:“I will.”He took the guest to his wife and said:“Honor the guest of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and do not keep anything back.”His wife said:“By Allah, we have nothing except food for the children.”Abu Talhah said:“Prepare your food, light the lamp, and when the children want dinner, put them to sleep.”So she prepared the food, lit the lamp, and put the children to sleep. Then she got up as if to fix the lamp and (deliberately) turned it off. Then, in the darkness, both of them (husband and wife) made the guest believe that they were eating with him. So the guest ate, and both of them spent the night hungry. In the morning, Abu Talhah went to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and he said:“Allah laughed at (or was amazed by) what you did with your guest last night.”Then Allah revealed (praising their good character) this verse:“And they give preference to others over themselves, even though they are in need. And whoever is saved from the greed of his soul, it is those who are successful.”__QUR_N__ __XREF_N__ __REF_N__

Sayyiduna Jabir bin Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) says: Sayyiduna Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) addressed us at the place of Jabiyah and said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) stood among us as I am standing among you and said: "Take care regarding my companions, then those who come after them, and then those who come after them. After that, lying will become widespread, to the extent that a man will give testimony though it was not requested from him, and he will swear an oath though it was not requested from him."
