Starting with the right side in ablution and other acts.
‘It is narrated from Umm al-Mu’minin Aisha Siddiqa Tayyiba Tahira (may Allah be pleased with her) that’ indeed, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) liked to begin with the right side in purification, combing his hair, and putting on his shoes.

The Prophet’s method of ablution.
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Zayd bin Asim Ansari, may Allah be pleased with him, and he was a companion, that people said to him, "Show us how the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) performed ablution." So he called for a vessel (of water), tilted it, and first poured water over both his hands. (From this, it is understood that at the beginning of ablution, it is recommended to wash both hands including the fingers, before putting the hands into the water.) And he washed them three times. Then he put his hand into the vessel and took it out, and with a single handful rinsed his mouth and put water into his nose. Then he did the same three times. Then he put his hand in and took it out and washed his face three times. (In the narration of Bukhari, it is mentioned that he joined both hands together to take water and washed his face three times.) Then he put his hand into the vessel and took it out and washed both his hands up to the elbows twice each. Then he put his hand into the vessel and took it out and wiped his head, first moving both hands from the front to the back, then from the back to the front (i.e., returning to the forehead). Then he washed both feet including the ankles. After that, he said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to perform ablution in this manner.

Snuffing water into the nose during ablution.
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Whoever performs ablution should put water into his nose and then expel it. It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: When any one of you wakes up from sleep, he should expel water from his nose three times, for indeed Satan spends the night at the tip of the nose or in the middle veins of the nose.

Shining of the forehead, hands, and feet from complete ablution.
Narrated from Naeem bin Abdullah Mujmir that: I saw Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) performing ablution; when he washed his face, he washed it thoroughly. Then he washed his right hand up to and including a part of his upper arm. Then he washed his left hand up to and including a part of his upper arm. Then he wiped his head. Then he washed his right foot, including a part of his shin. Then he washed his left foot up to and including a part of his shin. Then he said: I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) performing ablution in this manner, and he said: On the Day of Resurrection, your foreheads and hands and feet will be shining white (radiant) because of the traces of ablution. Therefore, whoever among you wishes to increase his brightness, let him do so (i.e., let him wash his limbs thoroughly and up to farther parts).

Narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came to the graveyard and said,“Peace be upon you, O abode of the Muslims, and if Allah wills, we shall join you. I wish that we could see our brothers.”(From this hadith it is known that it is permissible to wish for good things, such as meeting scholars and virtuous people.) The noble Companions (may Allah be pleased with them all) said,“O Messenger of Allah! Are we not your brothers?”He (peace and blessings be upon him) said,“You are my companions, and our brothers are those who have not yet come into the world.”The Companions said,“O Messenger of Allah! How will you recognize those people of your ummah whom you have not seen?”He (peace and blessings be upon him) said,“Suppose among you someone has a horse with a white forehead and white legs among black horses, will he not recognize his horse?”The Companions said,“Indeed, he will recognize it.”He (peace and blessings be upon him) said,“On the Day of Resurrection, my ummah will have radiant faces and radiant hands and feet because of ablution, and I will precede them at the Hawd (Pond) of Kawthar. Beware! Some people will be driven away from my Hawd just as a stray camel is driven away. I will call them, ‘Come, come!’ At that time it will be said, ‘These people changed (their ways) after you (or their condition changed, they became involved in innovation and oppression).’ Then I will say, ‘Go away, go away.’”

Whoever performed ablution excellently.
It is narrated from Humran, who was the freed slave of Sayyiduna Uthman bin Affan (may Allah be pleased with him), that he said: Sayyiduna Uthman bin Affan (may Allah be pleased with him) called for water for ablution and performed ablution. First, he washed both hands up to the wrists three times, then rinsed his mouth and put water into his nose. Then he washed his face three times, then washed his right hand up to the elbow, then washed his left hand three times, then wiped his head. Then he washed his right foot three times, then washed his left foot three times. After that, he said: I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) perform ablution in the same way as I have just performed ablution. Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Whoever performs ablution like my ablution, then stands and prays two rak‘ahs, not letting his mind wander to anything else during them, his previous sins will be forgiven. Ibn Shihab said: Our scholars used to say that this ablution is the most complete of all ablutions performed for prayer.

Narrated from Sayyiduna Uthman (bin Affan) (may Allah be pleased with him): He said that I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say: Whoever performs ablution perfectly for prayer, then goes to the (mosque) for the obligatory prayer and prays with the people or in congregation or in the mosque, Allah Almighty will forgive his sins.

Virtue of perfect ablution even in hardship.
Narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Shall I not tell you about those things by which sins are erased (i.e., forgiven or wiped out from the record of the scribes) and ranks are elevated (in Paradise)? The people said: Why not, O Messenger of Allah! Please tell us. He (peace be upon him) said: Performing ablution thoroughly (properly) even in difficulty (such as severe cold or illness), and taking many steps towards the mosques (such that the house is far from the mosque and one goes repeatedly), and waiting for one prayer after another prayer. That is ribat (i.e., restraining the soul for worship).

Adornment in Paradise reaches where ablution water reaches.
Abu Hazim narrates: I was behind Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him), he was performing ablution for prayer and was washing his hand so far up that he washed up to his armpit. I said, "O Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him), what kind of ablution is this?" He said, "O descendants of Farukh (Farukh is the name of a son of Ibrahim, peace be upon him, whose descendants are among the non-Arabs, and Abu Hazim was also non-Arab), are you present here? If I had known you were present here, I would not have performed ablution in this manner. I heard my friend (the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him) say, 'On the Day of Resurrection, a believer will be adorned with jewelry up to the place where his ablution reaches.'"
