Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) says that when Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) would have a fever, he would say: Every person is told among his family, "May your morning be well," while death is closer to him than the strap of his sandal. And when Sayyiduna Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) would recover, he would say loudly: If only I knew, will I ever spend a night in a valley where around me will be the grasses called Idhkhir and Jalil, and will I ever come to the waters of Juhfah, and will I ever see the mountains of Shamah and Tufail? Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) says: I came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and informed him, so the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: «اللَّهُمَّ حَبِّبْ إِلَيْنَا الْمَدِينَةَ كَمَا حَبَّبْتَ إِلَيْنَا مَكَّةَ أَوْ أَشَدَّ، وَصَحِّحْهَا، وَبَارِكْ لَنَا فِي صَاعِهَا وَمُدِّهَا، وَانْقُلْ حُمَّاهَا إِلَى الْجُحْفَةِ» "O Allah! Make Madinah beloved to us just as You made Makkah beloved to us, or even more so. Make its climate healthy for us, and bless us in its Sa’ and its Mudd, and transfer its fever from here to Juhfah."
