Narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "The supplication of every one of you is certainly accepted as long as he does not pray for a sin or for severing ties of kinship, or he does not become hasty, such that he says: I made supplication but I do not think it has been accepted, then he gives up supplicating."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Uthman bin Affan (may Allah be pleased with him) that I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say:“Whoever recites this supplication three times every morning and evening: «بِسْمِ اللهِ الَّذِي لَا يَضُرُّ مَعَ اسْمِهِ شَيْءٌ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَلَا فِي السَّمَاءِ وَهُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ» ‘In the name of Allah, with whose name nothing in the earth or the sky can cause harm. He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.’ Nothing will harm him.”The narrator of the hadith (Aban) had paralysis in some parts of his body, so the person listening to the hadith began to look at him. Aban realized his questioning gaze and said: The hadith is exactly as I have narrated it to you, but I did not recite this supplication on the day I was afflicted with paralysis, so that Allah’s decree would be fulfilled.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Shakl bin Humaid (may Allah be pleased with him), he said: I submitted, "O Messenger of Allah! Teach me a supplication from which I may benefit." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: «اللَّهُمَّ عَافِنِي مِنْ شَرِّ سَمْعِي، وَبَصَرِي، وَلِسَانِي، وَقَلْبِي، وَشَرِّ مَنِيِّي» "You should supplicate: O Allah! Grant me safety from the evil of my ears, my eyes, my tongue, and my heart. And protect me from the evil of my semen." Waki’ (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "From the evil of semen" means adultery and immorality, that is, I seek Your protection from falling into adultery.
