It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him), he said that a man peeped through a hole in the door of the Prophet's (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) chamber, so the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) pointed his spear (lance) towards him, and the man withdrew his head.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Musa Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him) that I sought permission to enter upon Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) three times. I was not granted permission, so I went back. He sent for me and said: O Abdullah! Was it burdensome for you to stand at my door? Know that it is also very burdensome for people to be kept waiting at your door. I said: No, rather I sought permission to come to you three times. I was not granted permission, so I went back, and this is what we have been commanded to do. He said: From whom did you hear this? I said: I heard it from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). He said: Did you hear from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) what we did not hear? If you do not bring a witness to this, I will make you an example for others. I left and went to a group of the Ansar who were sitting in the mosque. I asked them, and they said: Is there any doubt about this? I told them what Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) had said, so they said: The youngest among us will go with you. Thus, Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) or Sayyiduna Abu Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) got up to go with me to Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him). They said: We went out with the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) when he wanted to go to Sayyiduna Sa'd bin Ubadah (may Allah be pleased with him). When he reached him, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said «السلام علیکم» , but permission was not granted. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said «السلام علیکم» a second time, then a third time «السلام علیکم» , but still permission was not granted. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:“We have fulfilled what was required of us.”Then he turned back from there, and afterwards Sayyiduna Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) came and said: O Messenger of Allah! By the One Who sent you with the truth, I heard every greeting of yours and (quietly) responded, but I wanted you to greet me and my family abundantly. Sayyiduna Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) said: By Allah! I am trustworthy regarding the hadith of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: There is no doubt about your trustworthiness, but I wanted to investigate further.

It is narrated from Abu Alaniyah (may Allah have mercy on him) that I went to Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) and said «السلام علیکم» , but I was not granted permission to enter. I said «السلام علیکم» again, but still was not granted permission. Then, for the third time, I raised my voice and said «السلام علیکم» : O people of the house! But still, I was not granted permission, so I sat down to one side of the door. Then a boy came out of the house to me and said: Come in, so I entered. Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Indeed, if you had greeted more than this (three times), you would not have been granted permission. Then I asked him about vessels. For every vessel I asked about, he said: It is forbidden. Until I asked him about the jaf (leather vessel), and he said: It is forbidden. Muhammad bin Sirin (may Allah have mercy on him) said: Jaf is the vessel whose mouth is covered with leather and tied with a strap.
