Narrated from Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her): She said, whenever the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was given a choice between two matters, he would choose the easier of the two, as long as it was not sinful. But if it was sinful, then he would be the farthest of all people from it. And the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) never took revenge for his own sake, except when one of the sanctities of Allah the Exalted was violated, then he would take revenge for the sake of Allah the Exalted.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: Verily, Allah Almighty has distributed character among you just as He has distributed sustenance among you. And Allah gives wealth to those whom He loves and (also to) those whom He does not love. He has distributed character among you just as He has distributed your sustenance, and He gives faith only to those whom He loves. Whoever is miserly in spending wealth, fears to fight the enemy, and is afraid to endure the hardship of the night, then he should frequently recite these words: L «اَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ، وَسُبْحَانَ اللهِ، وَالْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ، وَاللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ» .

Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) that he (peace be upon him) said: "Wealth is not due to having a lot of possessions, but true wealth is the richness of the heart."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him), he said: I served the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) for ten years, but he never even said "uff" to me, and regarding something I did not do, he never said, "Why did you not do it?" And regarding something I did do, he never said, "Why did you do this?"

Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) says that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was very compassionate. When anyone came to him (for their need), he would make a promise to them and fulfill it, provided he had it with him. (Once) the iqamah for prayer was given and a Bedouin came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), grabbed his garment, and said: "I have a small need left, I fear I might forget it." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) went with him until his need was fulfilled, and then returned and led the prayer.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) never said "no" in response to any request.

Narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Zubair (may Allah be pleased with him), he said: I have not seen any two women more generous than Sayyidah Asma (may Allah be pleased with her) and Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her). The manner of their generosity was different. Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) used to accumulate wealth, and when some wealth was collected with her, she would distribute it. As for Asma (may Allah be pleased with her), her way was that she would not save anything for the next day (i.e., she would spend whatever she had each day).

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "The dust encountered in the way of Allah and the smoke of Hell will never be combined in the belly of a servant. And (likewise) miserliness and faith can never be gathered together in the heart of a servant."

It is narrated from Abdullah bin Rabee’ah, he says: We were sitting with Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas’ood (may Allah be pleased with him), and he mentioned a man and described his character and habits. Abdullah said: Tell me, if you cut off this person’s head, can you then reattach it? The people said: No. He said: Well, if you cut off his hand? The people said: No. He said: And his stomach? The people said: No. He said: Then you cannot change his habits either until you change his physical structure. Indeed, the drop (of semen) remains in the womb for forty days, then it becomes blood and descends, then it becomes a clot, then it becomes a lump of flesh, then Allah sends an angel who writes down his provision, his character, and whether he will be fortunate or unfortunate.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him), he said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Indeed, a person, due to good character, attains the rank of one who stands (in prayer) at night."
