Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) that he said: "A believer is the mirror of his brother, and a believer is the brother of another believer.
Sayyiduna Mustawrid (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) that he said: "Whoever eats (i.e., obtains) something after speaking ill of a Muslim / whoever makes a Muslim a means of obtaining food. (This means that when a man has a quarrel with someone, another person goes to him and speaks ill of the one with whom he had the quarrel, and by speaking against him, he establishes his own position with the other so that he may be liked as an enemy of his enemy, and in this act of speaking ill, he is given something as a gesture of closeness.) Allah will feed him from the Hellfire in the same way, and whoever is clothed with something in return for speaking ill of a Muslim, Allah will clothe him with something from the Hellfire, and whoever stands at a place of fame and show due to speaking ill of someone (he mentions the faults of another so that he may gain fame and a position), Allah will make him stand at a place of fame and show on the Day of Resurrection. Whoever eats a morsel belonging to a Muslim, Allah will feed him a similar morsel from Hell; and whoever wears a garment belonging to a Muslim, Allah will clothe him with a garment from Hell; and whoever stands in opposition to a Muslim, Allah will stand him in opposition to Himself."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Mas’ud Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him), he said: A man came to the service of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and said,“My mount has become exhausted, please help me to ride (grant me a mount).”The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said,“I do not have one, but go to so-and-so, perhaps he will give you a mount.”He went to him, and he provided him with a mount (he gave him a ride). He returned to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and informed him. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said,“Whoever guides to a good deed will have a reward equal to that of the one who does it (whoever shows the way to goodness, he will have a reward equal to the one who acts upon it).”

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him): A Jewish woman brought poisoned meat of a goat to the service of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) ate from that meat. (When the matter became known,) the woman was brought (before him). It was said to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him): Should we not kill this Jewish woman? The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "No." Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I always used to see the effect of that poison on the throat (uvula) of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him).

Wahb bin Kaysan says, I heard Abdullah bin Zubair saying from the pulpit: "Adopt the way of forgiveness, enjoin what is good, and turn away from the ignorant." He said: By Allah! Allah has not commanded this (forgiveness) except that it be taken from people's character. (Meaning, when people behave harshly, one should deal with them with forgiveness.) By Allah! I will certainly take this from the people as long as I live among them (that is, whenever people behave rudely, I will forgive them).

It is narrated from Ata bin Yasar, he says: I met Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr bin al-As (may Allah be pleased with him), so I said (to him): Tell me the attributes of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) that are in the Torah. He said: Yes, by Allah! Some of the attributes of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that are mentioned in the Torah are also described in the Qur'an: «يَا أَيُّهَا النَّبِيُّ إِنَّا أَرْسَلْنَاكَ شَاهِدًا وَمُبَشِّرًا وَنَذِيرًا‏» "O Prophet (peace and blessings be upon you)! We have sent you as a witness, a bearer of glad tidings, and a warner." And as a protector for the unlettered people. You are My servant and My messenger. I have named you 'Al-Mutawakkil' (the one who relies on Allah). You are neither harsh in nature nor hard-hearted, nor do you raise your voice in the markets, nor do you repay evil with evil, but you forgive and overlook. And Allah, the Exalted, will not take him (the Prophet) from this world until, through him, He straightens the crooked nation so that they say 'La ilaha illallah' (there is no god but Allah), and through him, He opens blind eyes, deaf ears, and wrapped hearts.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Muawiyah (may Allah be pleased with him), he said: I heard a statement from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) from which Allah benefited me. I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) saying, or he said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say: "When you seek out people's faults, you will corrupt them."
