It is narrated from Sayyiduna Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever performs the Isha and Fajr prayers in congregation, it is as if he has stood in prayer for the entire night. And in another narration, it is stated: Whoever performs the Isha prayer in congregation, it is as if he has stood in prayer for half the night, and whoever also performs the Fajr prayer in congregation, it is as if he has stood in prayer for the entire night.

Ata bin Farukh says that once Sayyiduna Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) bought a piece of land from a man, but when there was a delay on his part, he met him and said to him, "Why do you not take possession of your money?" He said, "You have deceived me; whoever I meet blames me." He (Uthman) said, "Is it only for this reason that you are hesitating?" He replied in the affirmative. He (Uthman) said, "Then choose between your land and your money (if you want to take your land back, then take it, and if you want to take the money, then take it), because the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: 'Allah Almighty will surely admit to Paradise the person who is gentle, whether he is a buyer or a seller, a payer or a demander.'"

Alqamah (may Allah have mercy on him) says that once I was with Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him), who was sitting with Sayyiduna Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him). Sayyiduna Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) asked him, "What remains with you regarding women?" When the mention of women came up, Sayyiduna Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) told me to come closer, as I was young at that time. Then Sayyiduna Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) himself said that once the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to a group of young emigrants and said, "Whoever among you is able should get married, for it lowers the gaze and protects the private parts. And whoever is not able, he should fast, for it diminishes desire."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The best among you is the one who learns the Qur'an and teaches it."
Humran says that once Sayyiduna Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) called for water to perform ablution. He rinsed his mouth, put water in his nose, washed his face three times, washed both arms three times, wiped his head, and also wiped over the upper part of his feet, and then he laughed. Then he asked his companions, "Why do you not ask me the reason for my laughter?" The people said, "O Commander of the Faithful! You tell us why you laughed." He said, "I saw the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) call for water in the same way, sit near this place, and perform ablution in the same manner as I did. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) also laughed and asked his companions, 'Why do you not ask me the reason for my laughter?' The noble Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) asked, 'O Messenger of Allah! What made you laugh?' He said, 'When a person calls for water to perform ablution and washes his face, Allah forgives all the sins committed by his face. When he washes his arms, the same happens. When he wipes his head, the same happens. And when he cleans his feet, the same happens.'"

Rabah says that my master married me to his Roman slave girl. I went to her, and a dark-skinned boy like me was born to her. I named him Abdullah. When the opportunity arose again, another dark-skinned boy was born, and I named him Ubaidullah. Coincidentally, my wife became the object of affection for my master's Roman slave, whose name was "Yuhannas." He won her over in his own language, so this time the child that was born resembled the complexion of the Romans. I asked my wife, "What is this?" She said, "This is Yuhannas's child." We presented this matter before Sayyiduna Uthman, may Allah be pleased with him. He said, «‏‏‏‏کہ کیا تم اس» "Are you content that I judge between you with the same decision that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) gave?" The decision of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) is that the child belongs to the owner of the bed, and for the adulterer there are stones.

Humran reports that once Sayyiduna Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) was sitting on a bench, he asked for water, first poured it on his left hand, then put his hand in the vessel and washed both hands three times, then washed his face three times, rinsed his mouth and put water in his nose, washed his arms including the elbows three times, then wiped his head and washed his feet including the ankles three times, and said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say that whoever performs ablution like this of mine and then offers two units of prayer without letting thoughts and distractions enter his heart, Allah Almighty will forgive all his past sins.
