Musnad Ahmad
مُسْنَدُ عَبْدِ اللّٰهِ بْنِ الْعَبَّاسِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ رَضِيَ اللّٰهُ عَنْهُمَا
Musnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them)
Hadith Number: 2012
(حديث مرفوع) حدثنا يحيى ، حدثنا هشام ، حدثنا قتادة ، عن ابي العالية ، عن ابن عباس ، ان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، كان يقول عند الكرب:" لا إله إلا الله العظيم الحليم، لا إله إلا الله رب العرش العظيم، لا إله إلا الله رب السماوات والارض رب العرش الكريم".
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was afflicted with hardship, he used to say: «لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا اللّٰهُ الْعَظِيمُ الْحَلِيمُ لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا اللّٰهُ رَبُّ الْعَرْشِ الْعَظِيمِ لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا اللّٰهُ رَبُّ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ رَبُّ الْعَرْشِ الْكَرِيمِ» "There is no deity except Allah, the Most Great, the Most Forbearing. There is no deity except Allah, the Lord of the Mighty Throne. There is no deity except Allah, the Lord of the heavens and the earth and the Noble Throne."
حكم دارالسلام: إسناده صحيح، خ: 6345، م: 2730.
Hadith Number: 2013
(حديث مرفوع) حدثنا يحيى ، عن شعبة ، حدثني الحكم ، عن مجاهد ، عن ابن عباس ، عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم، قال:" نصرت بالصبا واهلكت عاد بالدبور".
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I was helped by the east wind (the wind that comes from the direction of the door of the Ka'bah), and the people of 'Ad were destroyed by the west wind."
حكم دارالسلام: إسناده صحيح، خ: 1035، م: 900 .
Hadith Number: 2014
(حديث مرفوع) حدثنا يحيى ، عن ابن جريج ، اخبرني عمرو بن دينار ، ان ابا الشعثاء اخبره، ان ابن عباس اخبره، ان النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم" نكح وهو حرام".
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) married (Sayyidah Maymunah, may Allah be pleased with her) while he was in the state of Ihram.
حكم دارالسلام: إسناده صحيح، خ: 1837، م: 1410.
Hadith Number: 2015
(حديث مرفوع) حدثنا يحيى ، عن ابن جريج ، اخبرني عمرو بن دينار ، ان ابا الشعثاء اخبره، ان ابن عباس اخبره، انه سمع رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم يخطب، وهو يقول:" من لم يجد إزارا ووجد سراويل فليلبسها، ومن لم يجد نعلين ووجد خفين فليلبسهما"، قلت: لم يقل ليقطعهما؟ قال: لا.
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said while delivering a sermon: "When one does not find an izar (lower garment) to tie as a waist-wrapper in ihram, he should wear trousers, and if he does not find shoes, he should wear socks."
حكم دارالسلام: إسناده صحيح، خ: 1841، م: 1178.
Hadith Number: 2016
(حديث مرفوع) حدثنا يحيى ، عن ابن جريج ، قال: حدثني سعيد بن الحويرث ، عن ابن عباس ، ان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم" تبرز فطعم، ولم يمس ماء".
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) went to the toilet, then came out, asked for food, and started eating without performing ablution.
حكم دارالسلام: إسناده صحيح، م: 374.
Hadith Number: 2017
(حديث مرفوع) حدثنا يحيى ، عن هشام ، عن عكرمة ، عن ابن عباس ،" انزل على النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم وهو ابن ثلاث واربعين، فمكث بمكة عشرا، وبالمدينة عشرا، وقبض وهو ابن ثلاث وستين".
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the series of revelation to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) began continuously at the age of 43, he (peace be upon him) stayed in Makkah Mukarramah for ten years, ten years in Madinah Munawwarah, and at the age of 63, he (peace be upon him) passed away.
حكم دارالسلام: إسناده ضعيف، ومتنه شاذ، والصواب: أنزل على رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم وهو ابن أربعين، فأقام بمكة ثلاث عشرة سنة، وأقام بالمدينة عشر سنين.
Hadith Number: 2018
(حديث مرفوع) حدثنا يحيى ، حدثنا حميد ، عن الحسن ، عن ابن عباس ، قال" فرض رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم هذه الصدقة كذا وكذا، ونصف صاع برا".
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) prescribed so-and-so items as Fitrana and prescribed half a sa’ of wheat. Benefit: For further clarification of this hadith, see hadith number 3291.
حكم دارالسلام: إسناده ضعيف، الحسن البصري مدلس وقد عنعن.
Hadith Number: 2019
(حديث مرفوع) حدثنا يحيى ، عن شعبة ، عن ابي جمرة ، قال: سمعت ابن عباس ، قال: إن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم" صلى من الليل ثلاث عشرة".
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to pray 13 rak‘ahs at night (eight of Tahajjud, three of Witr, and two Sunnahs of Fajr).
حكم دارالسلام: إسناده صحيح، خ: 1138، م: 764.
Hadith Number: 2020
(حديث مرفوع) حدثنا يحيى ، عن شعبة ، حدثني ابو جمرة ، وابن جعفر , قال: حدثنا شعبة ، عن ابي جمرة ، قال: سمعت ابن عباس ، يقول: إن وفد عبد القيس لما قدموا المدينة على رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، قال:" ممن الوفد، او قال القوم؟" , قالوا: ربيعة، قال:" مرحبا بالوفد او قال: القوم غير خزايا ولا ندامى"، قالوا: يا رسول الله، اتيناك من شقة بعيدة وبيننا وبينك هذا الحي من كفار مضر، ولسنا نستطيع ان ناتيك إلا في شهر حرام، فاخبرنا بامر ندخل به الجنة ونخبر به من وراءنا، وسالوه عن اشربة، فامرهم باربع ونهاهم عن اربع، امرهم بالإيمان بالله، قال:" اتدرون ما الإيمان بالله؟" , قالوا: الله ورسوله اعلم، قال:" شهادة ان لا إله إلا الله وان محمدا رسول الله، وإقام الصلاة، وإيتاء الزكاة، وصوم رمضان، وان تعطوا الخمس من المغنم"، ونهاهم عن الدباء، والحنتم، والنقير، والمزفت، قال: وربما قال: والمقير، قال:" احفظوهن واخبروا بهن من وراءكم".
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that when the delegation of Banu Abdul Qais came to the service of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked them about their identity. They replied that they belonged to the tribe of Rabi’ah. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said,“Welcome from our side; by coming here you will neither be disgraced nor ashamed.”They said,“O Messenger of Allah! We have come to you from a distant place. Between us and you is the tribe of the disbelievers of Mudar, and we can only come to you during the sacred months. Therefore, tell us something by acting upon which we may enter Paradise, and we may also inform those whom we have left behind.”They also asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about alcohol. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) commanded them to do four things and forbade them from four things. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) commanded them to have faith in Allah and said,“Do you know what it means to have faith in Allah?”They said,“Allah and His Messenger know best.”The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said,“To testify that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) is the Messenger of Allah, to establish prayer, to give zakat, to fast in Ramadan, and to send one-fifth of the spoils of war to the treasury (Bayt al-Mal).”And the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade them from (using) vessels called dubba’, hantam, naqir, and muzaffat (which were used for drinking alcohol and whose explanation has already been mentioned several times before), and said,“Remember these things and convey them to those whom you have left behind.”
حكم دارالسلام: إسناده صحيح، خ: 53، م: 17 .
Hadith Number: 2021
(حديث مرفوع) حدثنا يحيى ، عن شعبة، وابن جعفر , قال: حدثنا شعبة ، حدثني ابو جمرة ، عن ابن عباس ، قال:" جعل في قبر رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قطيفة حمراء".
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that a red-colored sheet was spread in the blessed grave of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
