There was some resentment between Sayyiduna Ibn Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) and Anbasah bin Abi Sufyan, which escalated to the point of a fight. He said, "Do you not know that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: 'Whoever is killed while protecting his wealth is a martyr?'"

The companions (may Allah be pleased with them) replied, "Allah and His Messenger know best." He said: "A Muslim is the one from whose tongue and hand other Muslims are safe." Then he asked, "Do you know who is a believer?" The companions (may Allah be pleased with them) replied, "Allah and His Messenger know best." Each of them claimed that he had martyred Sayyiduna Ammar (may Allah be pleased with him). Sayyiduna Ibn Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "You should congratulate each other, for I heard the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say that Ammar will be killed by a rebellious group." Sayyiduna Amir Muawiyah (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "Then what are you doing with us, O Amr! Why do you not relieve us of this madman of yours?" He replied, "Once my father complained about me to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, 'Obey your father throughout your life and do not disobey him.' That is why I am with you, but I do not participate in the fighting."
