It is narrated from Sayyiduna Farwah bin Musayk that once I submitted in the court of Prophethood: O Messenger of Allah! We have a piece of land called Arz Bain, which is our place for crops and grain, but various calamities keep occurring there. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: Leave that place, for living in a region of epidemic becomes a cause of death.

It is narrated from an Ansari companion that he brought an Abyssinian slave woman and said to the Prophet (peace be upon him): O Messenger of Allah! It is obligatory upon me to free a Muslim slave. If you think she is a believer, I will set her free. The Prophet (peace be upon him) asked the slave woman: Do you testify that there is no god but Allah? She said: Yes. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: Do you testify that I am the Messenger of Allah? She said: Yes. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: Do you believe in being resurrected after death?
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Umair bin Salamah that once the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by the place of Rauha, where a donkey was lying wounded. The people mentioned it to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Leave it lying as it is until its owner comes. Only a short while had passed when a man from the tribe of Bahz came and said, "O Messenger of Allah! This is my game, do with it as you wish." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered Sayyiduna Siddiq Akbar, and he distributed it among the companions. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) departed from there, and when he reached 'Aqabat Athayah, he saw a deer in whose body an arrow was embedded, and it was lying crookedly in the shade of a rock. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered one of his companions: "You stay here until all the companions have passed by."

Saeed bin Musayyib says that once Sayyiduna Umar said: "I think that the blood money (diyah) should be given to the 'asaba (male agnates), because they are his family. Has anyone among you heard the Prophet (peace be upon him) say anything about this?" Upon this, Sayyiduna Dahiq, whom the Prophet (peace be upon him) had appointed as an official over the Bedouins, said: "The Prophet (peace be upon him) wrote to me in a letter that I should consider the wife of Ashim Dhababi as an heir in her husband's blood money." And upon this, Sayyiduna Umar began to act according to this hadith.

Saeed bin Musayyib says that the opinion of Sayyiduna Umar was that only the 'asaba (male agnates) should receive the blood money (diyah), and a woman should not inherit from her husband's blood money, until Sayyiduna Dahhak bin Sufyan informed him that the Prophet ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) wrote to me in a letter: that I should consider the wife of Ashyam Dhibabi as an heir in her husband's blood money. Upon this, Sayyiduna Umar withdrew his opinion.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Duhak bin Sufyan that once a man from the tribe of Kilab asked him, "Duhak, what is your food?" He replied, "O Messenger of Allah! Meat and milk." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked, "What does meat and milk become afterwards?" He replied, "You know that best." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Allah has made the filth that comes out of the body of the son of Adam an example of this world."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar that I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Kill every snake, especially the striped snake and the snake with a cut tail, because both of these cause miscarriage and loss of eyesight." Therefore, whenever I saw a snake, I would kill it. One day, Sayyiduna Abu Lubabah or Yazid bin Khattab saw me chasing a snake to kill it, and I told them that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had ordered their killing. So they said: "Afterwards, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade killing the snakes that live in houses."

Husain bin Saib says that when Allah accepted the repentance of Sayyiduna Abu Lubabah, he said, "O Messenger of Allah! As part of my repentance, I will leave my people's house and come to live in your neighborhood, and I will dedicate all my wealth for Allah and His Messenger." Nafi' reports that Sayyiduna Ibn Umar used to order the killing of all kinds of snakes, until one day Sayyiduna Abu Lubabah sought permission to enter the mosque through his window and saw that they were killing a snake. Sayyiduna Abu Lubabah narrated to them this hadith: that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade killing the snakes that live in houses, and ordered the killing of the striped and short-tailed snake.
