First Part of Musnad of the Basrans
حَدِيثُ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ
Hadith of Jabir ibn Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him)
Hadith Number: 20852
حدثنا حدثنا هاشم ، حدثنا زهير ، حدثنا سماك ، عن جابر بن سمرة ، قال:" كان بلال يؤذن إذا دحضت، ثم لا يقيم حتى يرى النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم، فإذا رآه اقام حين يراه" .
It is narrated from Hazrat Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that Hazrat Bilal used to give the adhan after the decline of the sun. He did not show any negligence in this, and he would not say the iqamah until he saw the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) coming out. When he saw that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had come out, he would then begin the iqamah.

Hadith Number: 20853
حدثنا اسود بن عامر ، حدثنا شريك ، عن سماك ، عن جابر بن سمرة ، قال: " شهدت النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم اكثر من مائة مرة في المسجد، واصحابه يتذاكرون الشعر واشياء من امر الجاهلية، فربما تبسم معهم" .
Simak says that I asked Hazrat Jabir bin Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) whether he used to attend the gatherings of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). He replied, "Yes, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would not get up from the place where he offered the Fajr prayer until the sun had risen. When the sun would rise, he would get up. He would remain mostly silent and laugh little. However, in the presence of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), the companions would talk and mention incidents from the days of ignorance and laugh, but the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would only smile."

Hadith Number: 20854
حدثنا اسود بن عامر ، حدثنا شريك ، عن سماك ، عن جابر بن سمرة " ان ماعزا جاء، فاقر عند النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم اربع مرات، فامر برجمه" .
It is narrated from Hazrat Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that Hazrat Ma'iz came before the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and confessed to adultery four times, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered him to be stoned.

Hadith Number: 20855
حدثنا حدثنا اسود بن عامر ، حدثنا شريك ، عن سماك ، عن جابر بن سمرة ، قال: كنا إذا جئنا إليه، يعني النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم " جلس احدنا حيث ينتهي" .
It is narrated from Hazrat Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that when we would attend the gathering of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), wherever the gathering was ending, we would sit there.

Hadith Number: 20856
حدثنا اسود بن عامر ، حدثنا شريك ، عن سماك ، عن جابر بن سمرة ، ان النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم " رجم يهوديا ويهودية" .
It is narrated from Hazrat Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) carried out the punishment of stoning on a Jewish woman and man.

Hadith Number: 20857
وقال: " ولم يكن يؤذن لرسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم في العيدين" .
And there was no call to prayer (adhan) for the Eid prayers.

Hadith Number: 20858
" وإن رجلا قتل نفسه فلم يصل عليه النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم" .
And a man committed suicide; upon hearing this, the Prophet (peace be upon him) did not offer his funeral prayer.

Hadith Number: 20859
حدثنا اسود بن عامر ، حدثنا شريك ، عن سماك ، عن جابر بن سمرة ، رفعه: قال:" لا يزال هذا الدين قائما يقاتل عليه عصابة حتى تقوم الساعة" ، قال شريك سمعته من اخيه إبراهيم بن حرب ، قلت لشريك: عمن ذكره هو لكم انتم؟ قال: عن جابر بن سمرة .
It is narrated from Hazrat Jabir bin Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) that this religion will always remain established and a group will continue to fight for it until the Day of Resurrection comes.

Hadith Number: 20860
حدثنا هاشم ، حدثنا زهير ، حدثنا زياد بن خيثمة ، عن الاسود بن سعيد الهمداني ، عن جابر بن سمرة ، قال: سمعت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، او قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: " يكون بعدي اثنا عشر خليفة، كلهم من قريش"، قال: ثم رجع إلى منزله، فاتته قريش، فقالوا: ثم يكون ماذا؟ قال:" ثم يكون الهرج" .
It is narrated from Hazrat Jabir bin Samurah, may Allah be pleased with him, that I heard the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, say: "There will be twelve caliphs after me, all of them will be from the Quraysh." After saying this, the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, went to his house. Then the people of Quraysh came to him and asked, "What will happen after that?" The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "After that, there will be widespread killing and chaos."

حكم دارالسلام: حديث صحيح دون قوله: ثم يكون الهرج، الأسود بن سعيد فيه جهالة، وقد توبع، لكن أحدا منهم لم يذكر قصة الهرج
Hadith Number: 20861
حدثنا حسن بن موسى ، حدثنا زهير ، حدثنا سماك ، عن جابر بن سمرة ، ان النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم ذكر له رجل نحر نفسه بمشاقص، فقال النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم:" إذا لا اصلي عليه" .
It is narrated from Hazrat Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was informed that a man had cut open his chest with a knife and committed suicide. Upon hearing this, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I will not lead his funeral prayer.
