It is narrated from Hazrat Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that I saw the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) delivering the sermon while standing, and then after a short while he would sit down and would not speak to anyone, then he would stand up and deliver the second sermon. Therefore, if anyone among you says that he saw the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) delivering the sermon while sitting, he is speaking falsely. By Allah, I have performed more than two thousand prayers with him.

Samak says that I asked Hazrat Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) about the prayer of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), so he replied that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to lead a light prayer, not like those people (who prolong it), and he also mentioned that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to recite Surah Qaf and similar surahs in the Fajr prayer.

Simak says that I asked Hazrat Jabir bin Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) whether he used to attend the gatherings of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). He replied, "Yes, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would not get up from the place where he offered the Fajr prayer until the sun had risen. When the sun would rise, he would get up. He would remain mostly silent and laugh little. However, in the presence of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), the companions would talk and mention incidents from the days of ignorance and laugh, but the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would only smile."

It is narrated from Hazrat Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that after offering the Fajr prayer, he used to remain seated in his place until sunrise, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would recite Surah Qaf and similar surahs in the Fajr prayer and would lead a short prayer.

It is narrated from Hazrat Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that I saw the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) delivering the sermon while standing. If anyone among you says that he saw the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) delivering the sermon while standing, then he is speaking falsely. Hazrat Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) says that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to deliver two sermons: first he would deliver one sermon and sit down, then stand up and deliver the second sermon, and the Prophet’s (peace and blessings be upon him) sermon and prayer were moderate.
