It is narrated from Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him), he says that I was unwell when the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to me and I was saying at that time: If my time of death has come, then grant me relief, and if my time of death is still far, then grant me healing or well-being, and if this is a trial, then grant me patience. Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) says that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked me, "What are you saying?" Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) says, I said this before the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) as well. Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) says, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) passed his hand over me and then said: "O Allah! Grant him healing," or he said, "Grant him well-being."
