Both Hazrat Saeed bin Jubair (may Allah have mercy on him) and Hazrat Sha'bi (may Allah have mercy on him) also said the same.

Hazrat Jabir bin Zaid (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "When a man says to his wife, 'Your matter is in your own hands,' then whatever she says in that same sitting will be enforced. If both separate, then nothing (will be enforced). A man, while roaming in the market, cannot remain under the authority of his wife."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him): "When a woman leaves the gathering, then she has no authority (choice) anymore."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him): "When a woman leaves the gathering before she makes a choice, then she no longer has any choice."

It is narrated from Hazrat Ata (may Allah have mercy on him) that he said: "When a man gives his wife the right of choice and the wife gives the right of choice back to the husband, then nothing happens. But if she chooses herself, then one divorce will take place, and the husband has more right over her."

It is narrated from Hazrat Mak'hool (may Allah have mercy on him) that he said: "If a man gives his wife the right of choice and the woman delays exercising this right, then she no longer has any right (of choice)."

This narration is also from Hazrat Ata (may Allah have mercy on him).

It is narrated from Ibrahim (may Allah have mercy on him) that a man gave his wife the right of choice by writing her a letter. The wife placed the letter under her pillow and said nothing. So he said: "Now she has no choice."

Hazrat Sha'bi (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "When a man gives his wife the right of choice three times and the wife chooses once, then three divorces will take place, and if he gives the right of choice once and she says three, then only one divorce will occur."

Ibrahim, may Allah have mercy on him, also said the same.
