It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him): Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) sent some gold wrapped in clay from Yemen. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) distributed it among four men: Sayyiduna Aqra' bin Habis, Sayyiduna 'Uyainah bin Badr, Sayyiduna 'Alqamah bin 'Alathah, and Sayyiduna Zayd al-Khayr (may Allah be pleased with them). The Quraysh became displeased. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I gave it to win their hearts." A man with a thick beard, prominent cheekbones, sunken eyes, protruding forehead, and a shaven head came and said: "Fear Allah, O Muhammad." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If I do not obey Allah, then who will obey Him?" Then he turned away, and a man sought permission to kill him. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "No, from his progeny will come people who will recite the Qur'an but it will not go beyond their throats. They will kill the Muslims and leave the idolaters. If I find them, I will kill them like the people of 'Ad were killed."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri, may Allah be pleased with him: The Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "A people will emerge from the East who will recite the Qur'an but it will not go beyond their throats." They will go out of the religion just as an arrow passes out of the prey. Then they will never return until the arrow returns to its bow. It was asked: "What is their sign?" He said: "Shaving the head or keeping the hair short."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him): He went to Abd al-Malik ibn Marwan with forty Ansar. Abd al-Malik fixed stipends for all of them. On their return, when they reached Fajj al-Naqah, Anas performed two rak‘ahs of prayer. The people stood up and began to perform two more rak‘ahs. Anas said: "May Allah ruin their faces; they neither adopted the Sunnah nor accepted the concession." I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Some people will be excessive in religion and will leave the religion just as an arrow leaves the prey."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him): The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "No nation before you was permitted to take spoils of war." A fire used to descend from the sky upon them and consume it. On the day of Badr, when the people hastily took the spoils of war, Allah the Exalted revealed: «لَوْلَا كِتَابٌ مِنَ اللَّهِ سَبَقَ لَمَسَّكُمْ فِيمَا أَخَذْتُمْ عَذَابٌ عَظِيمٌ» Then He said: «فَكُلُوا مِمَّا غَنِمْتُمْ حَلَالًا طَيِّبًا» .

Hazrat Saeed bin Abi Saeed (may Allah have mercy on him) said: Allah Almighty had already made the spoils of war lawful for you in His knowledge «لَوْلَا كِتَابٌ مِنَ اللَّهِ سَبَقَ» , if this had not been the case beforehand, you would have faced a great punishment on the day of Badr regarding the matter of the captives.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Urwah bin Zubair (may Allah be pleased with them): The slogan of the companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) on the Day of Musaylimah was: "O people of Surah Al-Baqarah!"

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Samurah bin Jundub (may Allah be pleased with him): The slogan of the Muhajirun was: "Abdullah." And the slogan of the Ansar was: "Abdur Rahman."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ata bin Yasar (may Allah have mercy on him): The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), on his return from Uhud, passed by the women of Banu Ashhal. They were weeping over their martyrs. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "But Hamza has no one to weep for him." Sayyiduna Sa'd bin Mu'adh (may Allah be pleased with him) ordered the women of the Ansar to go and weep for Hamza. So they went and wept. When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) heard their voices of weeping, he asked: "Who are they?" It was said: "The women of the Ansar." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Now stop weeping." May Allah bestow His pleasure upon you, your children, and their children.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Sa’d bin Mu’adh (may Allah be pleased with him): When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) returned from Uhud, he found the women of the Ansar weeping over their martyrs. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:“But Hamzah has no one to weep for him.”Sayyiduna Sa’d told the women:“First, weep for the sorrow of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him).”So they began to weep for Hamzah. When the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) heard this, he said:“I did not intend this.”And he forbade wailing.

It is narrated from Salim bin Abdullah: "When we ascended to a height, we would say takbeer, and when we descended, we would say tasbeeh."
