It is narrated from Hazrat Ya'la (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would stand for prayer, before the takbeer he would wipe his hand over the faces of his companions. I had applied a perfume called khuluq, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) wiped his hand over the faces of the other companions but left me out. I went back and washed it off, and when I attended the next prayer, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) wiped his hand over my face and said, "You have returned with a good religion." 'Ala (Ya'la) repented, and his voice reached the sky.

It is narrated from Hazrat Ya'la (may Allah be pleased with him) that once a man came to the service of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) wearing a very large (heavy) gold ring. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked him, "Do you pay its zakat?" He asked, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), what is its zakat?" When he went back, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "This is a very large spark (of fire) for him."

It is narrated regarding Hazrat Ya'la (may Allah be pleased with him) that once he was sitting with Ziyad. A man was brought to Ziyad who had given some testimony. Ziyad altered his testimony and said, "I will cut off your tongue." Upon hearing this, Hazrat Ya'la (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "Shall I not tell you a hadith I heard from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)? I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say that Allah Almighty says: 'Do not mutilate My servants.'" Upon this, Ziyad let him go.

It is narrated from Hazrat Ya'la bin Murrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that once I set out on a journey with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) intended to relieve himself, so he commanded two trees, and they came together. Then he commanded them again, and they returned to their places. In the same way, one day I was sitting with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) when a camel came running and placed its neck before the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and then tears started flowing from its eyes. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Do you know what this camel is saying? It is saying that its owner wants to slaughter it." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) called its owner and said, "Will you gift it to me?" He said, "O Messenger of Allah! (peace and blessings be upon him) It is very dear to me." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Then treat it well." He said, "O Messenger of Allah! (peace and blessings be upon him) Now I will not take care of any of my wealth as much as I will take care of it." Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by a grave in which the deceased was being punished. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "He is not being punished for any major reason." Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered a branch to be planted on his grave and said, "Perhaps as long as it remains fresh, his punishment will be lightened."

It is narrated from Hazrat Ya'la (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) went to a meal at an invitation. When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) reached those people, he saw that Hazrat Imam Hussain (may Allah be pleased with him) was playing with the children. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) moved forward to catch him, so Hazrat Imam Hussain (may Allah be pleased with him) would sometimes run this way and sometimes that way. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) began to make him laugh, until he caught him. Then he placed one hand under his neck and the other under his chin, and placed his blessed mouth on his mouth and said, "Hussain is from me and I am from Hussain. May Allah love the person who loves Hussain. Hussain is a complete group and tribe."

It is narrated from Hazrat Ya'la bin Murrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that once a woman brought her child to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said, "O Messenger of Allah! (peace and blessings be upon him) This child is suffering from an affliction which causes us distress." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) opened the child's mouth and put his saliva into it three times and said: "In the name of Allah! I am the servant of Allah. O enemy of Allah! Go away." The child was cured at that very moment. His mother presented two rams, some cheese, and some ghee to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
It is narrated from Hazrat Ya'la bin Murrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that one day I went out towards the desert with the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). Upon reaching a certain place, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "Go to those two trees and tell them that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) commands you, by Allah's permission, to come together." So I went to them and said this, and the two trees came together. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) then relieved himself, and after returning, said, "Go and tell them that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) commands you to return to your respective places." And so it happened.
