حَدِيثُ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ
Hadith of Umm Salamah, wife of the Prophet (peace be upon him)
Hadith Number: 26730
حدثنا محمد بن جعفر ، قال: حدثنا شعبة ، قال: سمعت ابا إسحاق ، انه سمع ابا سلمة يحدث، عن ام سلمة ، قالت:" ما مات النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم حتى: كان اكثر صلاته قاعدا غير الفريضة، وكان احب العمل إليه ادومه وإن قل" .
It is narrated from Hazrat Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) that at the time of the Prophet’s (peace be upon him) passing, most of his prayers were performed sitting, and the most beloved deed to the Prophet (peace be upon him) was that which was done consistently, even if it was little.

Hadith Number: 26731
حدثنا محمد بن جعفر ، قال: حدثنا شعبة ، عن موسى بن ابي عائشة ، عن مولى لام سلمة ، عن ام سلمة , ان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم كان يقول إذا صلى الصبح حين يسلم:" اللهم إني اسالك علما نافعا، ورزقا طيبا، وعملا متقبلا" .
It is narrated from Hazrat Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to supplicate after the Fajr prayer: O Allah! I ask You for beneficial knowledge, accepted deeds, and lawful sustenance.
حكم دارالسلام: إسناده ضعيف لإبهام مولي أم سلمة
Hadith Number: 26732
حدثنا وكيع ، حدثنا هارون النحوي ، عن ثابت ، عن شهر بن حوشب ، عن ام سلمة ، عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم انه: " قرا إنه عمل غير صالح" .
It is narrated from Hazrat Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) recited this verse from Surah Hud in this way: "Indeed, he is an unrighteous deed."
حكم دارالسلام: حديث محتمل للتحسين بشاهده،وهذا إسناده ضعيف لضعف شهر بن حوشب
Hadith Number: 26733
حدثنا عفان ، حدثنا وهيب ، قال: حدثنا خالد ، عن ابي قلابة ، عن زينب بنت ابي سلمة ، عن ام سلمة , انها قالت: كان " يفرش لي حيال مصلى رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، فكان يصلي وانا حياله" .
It is narrated from Hazrat Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) that my bed used to be laid directly in front of the prayer place of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and I used to be lying in front of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) while he was offering prayer.

Hadith Number: 26734
حدثنا معمر بن سليمان الرقي ، قال: حدثنا خصيف ، عن عطاء ، عن ام سلمة زوج النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم , انها سالت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم عن الذهب يربط به المسك او تربط، قال: " اجعليه فضة، وصفريه بشيء من زعفران" .
It is narrated from Hazrat Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) that she asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), "O Messenger of Allah! Should we not mix a little musk with gold?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Why do you not mix it with silver, then mix it with saffron, by which that silver will also become like gold."

Hadith Number: 26735
حدثنا ابو معاوية ، قال: حدثنا ليث ، عن عطاء ، عن ام سلمة ، قالت: لبست قلادة فيها شعرات من ذهب، قالت: فرآها رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم فاعرض عني، فقال: " ما يؤمنك ان يقلدك الله مكانها يوم القيامة شعرات من نار" , قالت: فنزعتها.
It is narrated from Hazrat Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) that once I wore a necklace which had gold threads in it. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saw it and, turning away from me, said: "Who has made you fearless of the fact that Allah, the Exalted, may make you wear threads of fire in place of this on the Day of Resurrection?" So I took it off.
حكم دارالسلام: إسناده فيه ضعف وانقطاع، ليث ضعيف وعطاء لم يسمع من أم سلمة
Hadith Number: 26736
حدثنا سفيان ، حدثنا ابن ابي نجيح ، عن مجاهد ، قال: قالت ام سلمة : يا رسول الله، يغزو الرجال، ولا نغزو، ولنا نصف الميراث؟ فانزل الله: ولا تتمنوا ما فضل الله به بعضكم على بعض سورة النساء آية 32 .
It is narrated from Mujahid that once Hazrat Umm Salamah submitted in the court of the Prophet, "O Messenger of Allah, men participate in jihad but we cannot participate in it, and then we also receive only half the inheritance?" Upon this, Allah the Exalted revealed this verse: "Do not wish for that by which Allah has made some of you excel others."
حكم دارالسلام: إسناده ضعيف، فيه انقطاع بين مجاهد و أم سلمة
Hadith Number: 26737
حدثنا عفان ، حدثنا سلام بن ابي مطيع ، قال: حدثنا عثمان بن عبد الله بن موهب ، قال: دخلت على ام سلمة زوج النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم، فارتني شعرا من شعر رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم مخضوبا بالحناء والكتم" .
Usman bin Abdullah says that once we went to Umm Salama, and she showed us a hair of the Prophet (peace be upon him) which had turned red because it was dyed with henna and katam.
حكم دارالسلام: إسناده صحيح، خ: 5896
Hadith Number: 26738
حدثنا ابو معاوية ، عن الاعمش ، عن عمرو بن مرة ، عن يحيى بن الجزار ، عن ام سلمة ، قالت: كان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: " يوتر بثلاث عشرة، فلما كبر وضعف، اوتر بسبع" .
It is narrated from Hazrat Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) that previously the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to perform Witr with thirteen rak'ahs, but when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) grew older and became weak, he started performing Witr with seven rak'ahs.
حكم دارالسلام: حديث صحيح، وهذا إسناد اختلف فيه على الاعمش
Hadith Number: 26739
حدثنا عبد الرزاق ، قال: حدثنا سفيان ، عن الاعمش ، عن ابي وائل ، عن ام سلمة ، قالت: قال النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم: " إذا حضرتم الميت او المريض فقولوا خيرا، فإن الملائكة يؤمنون على ما تقولون" .
It is narrated from Hazrat Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When you visit a dying or sick person, pray for good for him, because the angels say Ameen to your supplication.
