It is narrated from Hazrat Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) woke up from his sleep reciting "Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un." I asked, "O Messenger of Allah, what happened?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "A group from my Ummah will be swallowed by the earth. Then those people will send an army towards a man in Makkah Mukarramah. Allah will protect that man from them and will cause them to be swallowed by the earth. They will all fall in the same place, but their places of resurrection will be different." I asked, "O Messenger of Allah, how will that be?" He replied, "Some of them will be people who were forced to join the army, so they will be resurrected in that state."

Abu Qais says that once Abdullah bin Amr sent me to Umm Salamah to ask whether the Prophet (peace be upon him) used to kiss while fasting. If she replies in the negative, then say to her that Aisha informs people that the Prophet (peace be upon him) used to kiss her while fasting. So Abu Qais asked her this question, and she replied in the negative. Abu Qais mentioned Aisha's statement, so Umm Salamah said: It is possible that the Prophet (peace be upon him) kissed her because he had a very emotional love for her, but such a thing never happened with me.

It is narrated from Hazrat Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) that I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) saying: O family of Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)!
It is narrated from Hazrat Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) that once Hazrat Abdur Rahman bin Auf came to her and said, "Mother, I fear that the abundance of wealth may destroy me, because I am the wealthiest among the Quraysh." She replied, "Son, spend it, because I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say that some of my companions will be such that after my separation from them, they will never see me again." When Hazrat Abdur Rahman bin Auf went out, he met Hazrat Umar on the way and told him this. Hazrat Umar himself went to Hazrat Umm Salamah and, entering the house, said, "Swear by Allah and tell me, am I also among them?" She replied, "No, but after you, I cannot say this about anyone."

It is narrated from Hazrat Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) that I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "When a person is afflicted with a calamity and he says 'Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un' and then supplicates: 'O Allah! Grant me reward for this calamity and grant me something better in exchange for it,' then Allah Almighty will grant him reward for his calamity and will give him something better in exchange for it." When my husband Abu Salamah passed away, I thought, "Who could be better than Abu Salamah?" Yet Allah Almighty gave me the strength of honor and I recited this supplication. After my waiting period ('iddah) was over, Hazrat Abu Bakr and Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) each sent a proposal of marriage in turn, but I did not accept. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) sent Hazrat Umar to me with a proposal for himself. I said, "Please inform the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that I am a very jealous woman, I also have children, and I do not have any guardian present here." Hazrat Umar conveyed these words to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Go and tell her that I will pray to Allah and your jealousy will be removed. As for the children, you will continue to care for them. As for the guardian, none of your guardians, whether absent or present, will dislike this."

It is narrated from Hazrat Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) that the men of the Ansar did not approach their women from the back, because the Jews used to say that whoever approaches his wife from behind, his offspring will be cross-eyed. When the Muhajireen came to Madinah Munawwarah, they also married Ansari women and would approach them from behind, but one woman refused to obey her husband in this matter and said that until I ask the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about its ruling, you cannot do this. So that woman came to Hazrat Umm Salamah and mentioned it to her. Hazrat Umm Salamah said, "Sit down, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) will be here soon." When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) arrived, the woman felt shy to ask this question, so she left. Later, Hazrat Umm Salamah informed the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about this matter, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Call that Ansari woman!" So she was called, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) recited this verse before her: "Your wives are your tilth, so come to your tilth as you wish," and said, "In the front opening (whether the man comes from behind or from the front)."

It is narrated from Hazrat Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to her house, and there was a mukhannath (effeminate man) present there, as well as Abdullah bin Abi Umayyah, who was the brother of Hazrat Umm Salamah. That eunuch was saying to Abdullah, "O Abdullah bin Abi Umayyah, if tomorrow Allah grants you victory over Taif, then you must obtain the daughter of Ghailan, for she comes with four and returns with eight." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) heard this statement of his and said to Hazrat Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her), "From now on, he should not enter your house."
