٣٠٧٢٠ - حدثنا ابو بكر قال: حدثنا هشيم عن إسماعيل بن سالم عن الشعبي قال: قلت له في زمن ابن هبيرة: من اين ينفى في الزنى؟ قال: من عمله إلى (عمل) (١) غيره.

Hazrat Ismail bin Salim narrates that I asked Hazrat Sha’bi during the time of Hazrat Ibn Hubaira: From where to where should an adulterer be exiled as punishment for adultery? He replied: From his city to another city.

Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) narrates that Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddiq exiled a man and a woman for one year.

٣٠٧٢٤ - حدثنا ابو بكر قال: حدثنا وكيع عن زكريا ابي عمران قال: سمعت شيخا يحدث عن (ابن) (١) ابي بكرة عن ابيه ان النبي ﷺ رجم امراة فحفر (لها) (٢) إلى (الثندوة) (٣) (٤).

Hazrat Abu Bakrah narrates that when the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered a woman to be stoned, he had a pit dug for her up to her chest.

٣٠٧٢٥ - حدثنا ابو بكر قال: حدثنا يحيى بن سعيد القطان عن مجالد عن عامر ان عليا رجم امراة فحفر له إلى السرة، و (انا) (١) شاهد ذلك (٢).

Hazrat Aamir narrates that Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) stoned a woman to death, so he had a pit dug for her up to her navel, and I am a witness to this.

٣٠٧٢٦ - حدثنا ابو بكر قال: حدثنا عبد الله بن نمير عن بشير بن المهاجر قال: حدثني عبد الله بن بريدة عن ابيه ان النبي ﷺ (١) اتته الغامدية فاقرت عنده بالزنا، فامر بها فحفر لها إلى صدرها، وامر الناس (فرجموا) (٢)، ثم امر بها فصلى عليها، ثم دفنت (٣).

Hazrat Buraidah narrates that a woman from the tribe of Ghamid came to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and confessed to committing adultery. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) gave orders regarding her, so a pit was dug for her up to her chest. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) instructed the people, and they stoned her. Then, by the order of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), her funeral prayer was offered and she was buried.

Those Who Say: If a Pregnant Woman Commits Zina, Wait Until She Delivers, Then Stone Her

٣٠٧٢٧ - حدثنا ابو بكر قال: حدثنا ابو الاحوص عن سماك عن الحسن قال: جاءت امراة من بارق إلى (رسول) (١) الله ﷺ (٢) فقالت: إني قد زنيت فاقم في حد الله، قال: فردها النبي ﵇ حتى شهدت على نفسها شهادات، فقال لها النبي ﷺ (٣):"ارجعي" (٤)، فلما وضعت حملها امرها النبي ﷺ فتطهرت ولبست اكفانها ثم امر بها فرجمت، فاصاب خالد بن الوليد من دمها فسبها، فنهاه النبي ﷺ فقال:"لقد تابت توبة لو تابها صاحب مكس لقبل منه" (٥).

Hasan Basri narrates that a woman from the place of Barq came to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and said: Indeed, I have committed adultery, so please carry out Allah’s punishment on me! The Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, sent her back until she gave many testimonies against herself. Then the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said to her: Go back. When she had given birth to her child, the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, ordered her, so she purified herself and put on her shroud. Then, by the order of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, she was stoned to death. Some of her blood splashed onto Khalid bin Walid, so he spoke harshly to her. The Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, forbade him and said: Indeed, she has repented with such a repentance that if a tax collector had repented in this way, his repentance would have been accepted.

٣٠٧٢٨ - حدثنا ابو بكر قال: حدثنا ابن نمير قال: حدثنا بشير بن المهاجر قال: حدثنا عبد الله بن بريدة عن ابيه قال: جاءت الغامدية فقالت: يا (نبي) (١) الله إني قد زنيت وإني اريد ان تطهرني، وانه ردها، فلما كان الغد قالت: يا نبي الله (لم) (٢) تردني، (فلعلك) (٣) (٤) ان (ترددني) (٥) كما رددت ماعز بن مالك، فوالله إني ⦗٥٠٥⦘ لحبلى، قال:"اما لا، فاذهبي حتى تلدي"، فلما ولدت اتته بالصبي في خرقة، قالت: هذا قد ولدته، قال:"اذهبي فارضعيه حتى تفطميه"، (فلما فطمته) (٦) اتته بالصبي وفي يده كسرة خبز فقالت: هذا، يا نبي الله قد فطمته، وقد اكل الطعام، فدفع الصبي إلى رجل من المسلمين، ثم امر بها (فحفر لها) (٧) إلى صدرها، وامر الناس فرجموا، فاقبل خالد بن الوليد بحجر (فرمى) (٨) راسها (فانتضخ الدم) (٩) على وجه خالد بن الوليد، فسمع نبي الله ﷺ (١٠) سبه إياها، فقال:"مهلا يا خالد ابن الوليد، فوالذي نفسي بيده لقد تابت توبة لو تابها صاحب مكس لغفر له"، ثم امر بها فصلى عليها ودفنت (١١).

Hazrat Buraidah narrates that a woman from the tribe of Ghamid came and said: O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! I have committed adultery and indeed I wish that you purify me. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) sent her back. When the next day came, she said: O Prophet of Allah! Why did you send me back just as you sent Ma'iz bin Malik back? By Allah! Indeed, I am pregnant! The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: No, go until you give birth to the child. So when she gave birth to the child, she brought the child wrapped in old, torn clothes and said: I have given birth to him. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Go and nurse him until you wean him. When the woman weaned the child, she brought him while he was holding a piece of bread in his hand. The woman said: O Prophet of Allah! Indeed, I have weaned him and indeed he has eaten food. So the child was handed over to a man from among the Muslims. Then, by the order of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), a pit was dug up to her chest and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered the people, so they stoned her. Hazrat Khalid bin Walid brought a stone and struck her head, and the blood splattered onto the face of Hazrat Khalid bin Walid. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) heard him speaking ill of the woman and said: Wait, O Khalid bin Walid! By Him in Whose hand is my soul, indeed she has repented such a repentance that if a tax collector had repented like this, he would have been forgiven. Then, by the order of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), her funeral prayer was offered and she was buried.

٣٠٧٢٩ - حدثنا ابو بكر قال: حدثنا عفان بن مسلم قال: حدثنا ابان العطار قال: حدثني يحيى بن ابي كثير عن ابي قلابة عن ابي المهلب عن عمران بن حصين ان امراة من جهينة اتت النبي ﷺ (١) فقالت: إني اصبت حدا فاقمه علي، وهي حامل، فامر بها ان يحسن إليها حتى تضع، فلما (ان) (٢) وضعت جيء بها إلى رسول الله ﷺ فامر بها (فشكت) (٣) (عليها) (٤) ثيابها، ثم رجمها وصلى عليها فقال عمر: ⦗٥٠٦⦘ يا (نبي) (٥) الله اتصلي عليها (وقد زنت؟) (٦) (فقال) (٧):"لقد تابت توبة لو قسمت بين سبعين من اهل المدينة لوسعتهم، وهل وجدت افضل من ان جادت بنفسها" (٨).

Hazrat Imran bin Husain narrates that a woman from the tribe of Juhaina came to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said, "Indeed, the prescribed punishment has become obligatory upon me, so please establish it upon me." She was pregnant at the time. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered that she be treated well until she gave birth. When she had given birth, she was brought to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). By his command, clothes were put on her, then she was stoned, and her funeral prayer was offered. Hazrat Umar said, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! Will you offer her funeral prayer even though she committed adultery?" Upon this, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Indeed, she has repented with such a repentance that if her repentance were distributed among seventy people of Madinah, it would suffice them all. Do you find anyone superior to the one who has given her life (for Allah)?"
