بَابُ مَا جَاءَ فِي الصَّلَاةِ فِي النَّعْلِ
Chapter on Praying in Shoes
Hadith Number: 1434
عن ابن مسعود رضي الله عنه قال: لقد رايت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم يصلي في الخفين والنعلين
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) says that I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) praying in leather socks and shoes.

Hadith Number: 1435
عن النعمان بن سالم عن رجل جده اوس بن ابي اوس كان يصلي ويومئ إلى نعليه وهو في الصلاة فياخذهما فينتعلهما ويصلي فيهما، ويقول: كان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم يصلي في نعليه
Nu’man bin Salim narrates from a man that his grandfather Aws bin Abi Aws used to pray and during the prayer he would point towards his shoes, then pick them up and wear them while praying, and would say: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to pray in his shoes.

Hadith Number: 1436
عن عبد الله بن السائب رضي الله عنه ان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم صلى يوم الفتح فوضع نعليه عن يساره، قال عبد الله: سمعت هٰذا الحديث من ابي ثلاث مرار
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Sa’ib (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) performed prayer on the day of the conquest of Makkah and took off his shoes, placing them on his left side. Abdullah says: I heard this hadith from my father three times.

Chapter on Praying on Mats, Carpets, Furs, and Small Prayer Rugs
Hadith Number: 1437
عن ابي سعيد الخدري رضي الله عنه قال: صلى رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم على حصير
Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) says that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) prayed on a small mat.

Hadith Number: 1438
عن انس بن مالك رضي الله عنه قال: صنع بعض عمومتي للنبي صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم طعاما فقال: يا رسول الله! إني احب ان تاكل في بيتي، قال: فاتاه وفي البيت فحل من تلك الفحول، فامر بجانب منه فكنس ورش فصلى وصلينا معه
Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) says that one of my uncles prepared food for the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and came to him saying, "O Messenger of Allah! I wish that you eat food at my house." So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) went to him. In the house, there was a mat made of date-palm leaves lying there. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered regarding one side of it, so it was cleaned and water was sprinkled on it. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) prayed on it, and we also performed prayer with him.

Hadith Number: 1439
وعنه ايضا قال: كان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم ربما تحضره الصلاة وهو في بيتنا فيامر بالبساط الذي تحته فيكنس ثم ينضح بالماء ثم يقوم رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم ونقوم خلفه فيصلي بنا قال: وكان بساطهم من جريد النخل
It is also narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) would sometimes come to our house. If the time for prayer arrived, he would order that mat which was beneath him, so it would be cleaned and water would be sprinkled on it. Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) would stand on it and we would stand behind him, and he would lead us in prayer. This mat of theirs was made from palm leaves.

عن ابن عباس رضي الله عنهما ان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم صلى على بساط
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) prayed on a mat.

Hadith Number: 1441
عن انس بن مالك رضي الله عنه ان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم صلى في بيت ام حرام على بساط
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, performed prayer on a mat in the house of Umm Haram.

حكم: اسناده صحيح علي شرط مسلم
Hadith Number: 1442
عن المغيرة بن شعبة رضي الله عنه قال: كان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم يصلي او يستحب ان يصلي على فروة مدبوغة
Sayyiduna Mughira bin Shu’bah (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to pray on tanned leather or liked to pray on it.

حكم: اسناده ضعيف لضعف يونس بن الحارث
Hadith Number: 1443
عن ميمونة زوج النبي صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم قالت: كان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم يصلي على الخمرة فيسجد فيصيبني ثوبه وانا إلى جنبه وانا حائض
The wife of the Messenger, Sayyida Maymunah (may Allah be pleased with her), says that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) used to pray on a sheet, while I would be beside him in a state of menstruation. When he prostrated, his garment would keep touching me.
