Hadith Number: 4656
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: I performed Eid al-Adha with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). When he (peace and blessings be upon him) finished, a ram was brought to him. When he (peace and blessings be upon him) was about to slaughter it, he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "In the name of Allah, and Allah is the Greatest. O Allah! Indeed, this is on my behalf and on behalf of those from my ummah who have not offered sacrifice."

It is narrated from Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered for a ram with horns, whose legs were black, the area around its eyes was also black, and its belly was black as well. So it was brought so that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) could offer it as a sacrifice. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Aisha! Bring the knife." Then he said: "Sharpen it with a stone." So Sayyida did as he said. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) took the knife and caught the ram, laid it down to slaughter it, and said: (In the name of Allah, O Allah! Accept this on behalf of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), the family of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), and the Ummah of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him)).
