Sunan Saeed bin Mansur
بَابُ تَفْسِيرِ سُورَةِ يُوسُفَ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ الْآيَةُ (4) - قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: {إِذْ قَالَ يُوسُفُ لأَبِيهِ يَا أَبَتِ إِنِّي رَأَيْتُ أَحَدَ عَشَرَ كَوْكَبًا وَالشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَ رَأَيْتُهُمْ لِي سَاجِدِينَ}
Chapter: Interpretation of Surah Yusuf (peace be upon him), Verse (4) His saying, Exalted is He: {When Joseph said to his father, "O my father, indeed I have seen [in a dream] eleven stars and the sun and the moon; I saw them prostrating to me"}
Hadith Number: 1111
نا الحكم بن ظهير ، عن السدي ، عن عبد الرحمن بن سابط القرشي ، عن جابر بن عبد الله ، قال: اتى النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم رجل يقال له: بستاني اليهودي، فقال: يا محمد، اخبرني عن النجوم التي رآها يوسف انها ساجدة له ما اسماؤها؟ قال: فلم يجبه نبي الله صلى الله عليه وسلم بشيء، فنزل إليه جبريل عليه السلام فاخبره، فبعث نبي الله إلى اليهودي فجاءه، قال:" ارايت، تسلم إن اخبرتك". قال: نعم. فقال له النبي صلى الله عليه:" حرثان، والطارق، والذيال، وذو الكنفات، وذو الفرع، ووثاب، وعمودان، وقابس، والصروح، والمصبح، والفليق، والضياء، والنور، رآها في افق السماء انها ساجدة له، فلما قص يوسف رؤياه على يعقوب، قال له: هذا امر متشتت يجمعه الله من بعد"، قال اليهودي: هذه والله اسماؤها ، قال الحكم: الضياء: هو الشمس، وهو ابوه، والنور القمر، وهو امه.
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both): A Jew whose name was Bustani came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: O Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him)! Tell me the names of those stars which Sayyiduna Yusuf (peace be upon him) saw prostrating to him, what are their names? The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) did not give him any answer, then Jibril (peace be upon him) descended and informed him. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) called for the Jew and asked him: Tell me, if I inform you, will you accept Islam? He said: Yes. So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: «حُرْثَانُ» , «الطَّارِقُ» , «الذَّيَّالُ» , «ذُو الْكَنَفَاتِ» , «ذُو الْفَرَعِ» , «وَثَّابُ» , «عَمُودَانِ» , «قَابِسُ» , «الصَّرُوحُ» , «الْمُصَبِّحُ» , «الْفَلِيقُ» , «الضِّيَاءُ» , and «النُّورُ» , Sayyiduna Yusuf (peace be upon him) saw them prostrating on the horizon of the sky. When Sayyiduna Yusuf (peace be upon him) related his dream to his father Sayyiduna Yaqub (peace be upon him), he said: This is a scattered matter which Allah will gather later. The Jew said: By Allah! These are indeed their names. Al-Hakam said: «الضِّيَاءُ» means the sun was their father and «النُّورُ» means the moon was their mother.

الْآيَةُ (20) قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: {وَشَرَوْهُ بِثَمَنٍ بَخْسٍ دَرَاهِمَ مَعْدُودَةٍ وَكَانُوا فِيهِ مِنَ الزَّاهِدِينَ}
Verse (20) His saying, Exalted is He: {And they sold him for a reduced price—a few dirhams—and they were, concerning him, of those content with little}
Hadith Number: 1112
نا سفيان، عن ابن ابي خالد، قال: سمعت السدي، " يحلف ان الذي اشتروا به اثنان وعشرون درهما"، وقال سفيان: البخس: الحرام .
It is narrated from Suddi (may Allah have mercy on him): He used to swear that the price for which Sayyiduna Yusuf (peace be upon him) was bought was twenty-two dirhams, and Sufyan (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "Al-Bakhs" means that the deficiency refers to unlawful transactions.

الْآيَةُ (21) قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: {وَقَالَ الَّذِي اشْتَرَاهُ مِنْ مِصْرَ لامْرَأَتِهِ أَكْرِمِي مَثْوَاهُ عَسَى أَنْ يَنْفَعَنَا أَوْ نَتَّخِذَهُ وَلَدًا} الْآيَةَ
Verse (21) His saying, Exalted is He: {And the one from Egypt who bought him said to his wife, "Make his residence comfortable. Perhaps he will benefit us, or we will adopt him as a son"} the verse
Hadith Number: 1113
نا نا ابو الاحوص، عن ابي إسحاق، قال: نا ناس من اصحاب عبد الله، قالوا: قال عبد الله : " من افرس الناس ثلاثة: العزيز الذي اشترى يوسف، قال: عسى ان ينفعنا او نتخذه ولدا سورة يوسف آية 21 , والمراة التي قالت لابيها في موسى: يا ابت استاجره إن خير من استاجرت القوي الامين سورة القصص آية 26، وابو بكر حين ولى عمر رضي الله عنه امور المسلمين" .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him): He said that the three most discerning people among mankind were: the Aziz of Egypt, who, when he bought Sayyiduna Yusuf (peace be upon him), said: ﴿عَسَىٰ أَنْ يَنْفَعَنَا أَوْ نَتَّخِذَهُ وَلَدًا﴾ "Perhaps he will benefit us, or we shall adopt him as a son"; and the woman who said to her father about Sayyiduna Musa (peace be upon him): ﴿يَا أَبَتِ اسْتَأْجِرْهُ إِنَّ خَيْرَ مَنِ اسْتَأْجَرْتَ الْقَوِيُّ الْأَمِينُ﴾ "O my father! Hire him, for the best one you can hire is the strong and trustworthy"; and Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) when he appointed Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) as the caliph of the Muslims.

الْآيَةُ (23) قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: {وَرَاوَدَتْهُ الَّتِي هُوَ فِي بَيْتِهَا عَنْ نَفْسِهِ وَغَلَّقَتِ الأَبْوَابَ وَقَالَتْ هَيْتَ لَكَ}
Verse (23) His saying, Exalted is He: {And she, in whose house he was, sought to seduce him. She closed the doors and said, "Come, you"}
Hadith Number: 1114
نا ابو معاوية، عن الاعمش، عن يحيى بن وثاب، انه كان يقرا: هيئت لك .
Yahya bin Wathab (may Allah have mercy on him) used to recite like this: ﴿هُيِّئْتُ لَكَ﴾ meaning, "It has been prepared for you."

الْآيَةُ (24) قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: {وَلَقَدْ هَمَّتْ بِهِ وَهَمَّ بِهَا لَوْلا أَنْ رَأَى بُرْهَانَ رَبِّهِ كَذَلِكَ لِنَصْرِفَ عَنْهُ السُّوءَ وَالْفَحْشَاءَ إِنَّهُ مِنْ عِبَادِنَا الْمُخْلَصِينَ}
Verse (24) His saying, Exalted is He: {And she certainly determined [to seduce] him, and he would have inclined to her had he not seen the proof of his Lord. Thus [it was] that We should avert from him evil and immorality. Indeed, he was of Our chosen servants}
Hadith Number: 1115
نا حسان بن إبراهيم الكرماني، عن يونس بن يزيد، عن الزهري، قال: اخبرني حميد بن عبد الرحمن، " ان البرهان الذي راى يوسف: يعقوب" .
Al-Zuhri, may Allah have mercy on him, said: Humayd bin Abdur Rahman, may Allah have mercy on him, informed me that the proof which our master Yusuf (Joseph), peace be upon him, saw was our master Yaqub (Jacob), peace be upon him.

Hadith Number: 1116
نا نا سفيان، عن عثمان بن ابي سليمان، عن ابن ابي مليكة، عن ابن عباس ، في قوله عز وجل: لولا ان راى برهان ربه سورة يوسف آية 24 , قال:" حل الهميان، وجلس منها مجلس الخاتن، فنودي: اتزني يا ابن يعقوب فتكون بمنزلة الطائر ذهب يطير فسقط ريشه؟" .
Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: When Yusuf (peace be upon him) untied his waistband and sat near that woman in the manner that one sits for circumcision, a call came: O son of Yaqub! Will you commit adultery? So Yusuf (peace be upon him) became like a bird that flew and all its feathers fell off.

Hadith Number: 1117
نا نا سفيان، عن عبيد الله بن ابي يزيد، سمع ابن عباس يسال: ما بلغ من هموم يوسف؟ , قال:" حل الهميان، وجلس منها مجلس الخاتن" .
It was asked from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both): To what extent did the intention of Yusuf (peace be upon him) reach? He replied: Yusuf (peace be upon him) untied his waistband and sat near that woman in the manner that one who performs circumcision sits.

Hadith Number: 1118
نا سفيان، عن مسعر عمن حدثه , عن سعيد بن جبير، قال: " راى يعقوب وقد عض على يديه، فخرجت شهوته من انامله".
It is narrated from Sa'id bin Jubair (may Allah have mercy on him): Yusuf (peace be upon him) saw his father Yaqub (peace be upon him) cutting his hands, so the desire of Yusuf (peace be upon him) exited from the tips of his fingers.

Hadith Number: 1119
نا جرير، عن منصور، عن مجاهد، قال: " راى تمثال يعقوب" .
Mujahid (may Allah have mercy on him) said: Yusuf (peace be upon him) saw an image of his father Yaqub (peace be upon him).

Hadith Number: 1120
نا خالد بن عبد الله، عن يونس، عن الحسن، قال: " راى تمثال يعقوب عاضا على إصبعه" .
Hasan (may Allah have mercy on him) said: Yusuf (peace be upon him) saw a statue of his father Yaqub (peace be upon him) who was cutting his finger.
