Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:“Whoever, after every prayer, recites Subhan Allah thirty-three times, Alhamdulillah thirty-three times, and Allahu Akbar thirty-three times, these become ninety-nine. Then he completes one hundred by reciting this statement: ‘There is no deity except Allah. He is One. He has no partner. Sovereignty belongs to Him alone. All praise is for Him alone, and He has power over everything.’”The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) says: The sins of such a person are forgiven, even if they are as much as the foam of the sea. (Imam Ibn Hibban, may Allah have mercy on him, says:) The narrator named Abu Ubaid was the doorkeeper of Sulaiman bin Abdul Malik; Imam Malik has narrated from him.

Sayyiduna Zaid bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: We were commanded to recite Subhan Allah thirty-three times after every prayer, Alhamdulillah thirty-three times, and Allahu Akbar thirty-four times. Then, in his dream, a person came to him and said: Sayyiduna Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) has commanded you to recite Subhan Allah thirty-three times, Alhamdulillah thirty-three times, and Allahu Akbar thirty-four times after every prayer. Sayyiduna Zaid replied: Yes. So that person said: You may recite each of them twenty-five times and also include La ilaha illallah in it. When morning came, he presented himself before the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and informed him about this. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: You may do so.

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "There are two qualities; whoever adopts them will enter Paradise. Both are easy, but those who act upon them are few. One is that if a person recites Subhan Allah ten times, Alhamdulillah ten times, and Allahu Akbar ten times after each prayer, then (in a day and night) according to what is recited by the tongue, it will be one hundred and fifty, and on the scale it will be one thousand five hundred. (The second habit is), when a person goes to his bed, he should recite Subhan Allah thirty-three times, Alhamdulillah thirty-three times, and Allahu Akbar thirty-four times; so according to what is recited by the tongue, it will be one hundred, and on the scale it will be one thousand." The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Which one of you commits two thousand five hundred sins daily?" Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) states: I saw the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) counting them with his blessed hand. The narrator states: It was asked: O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! Why would anyone not act upon both of these? The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Satan comes to one of you while he is praying and says, 'Remember such-and-such, remember such-and-such,' and when a person is about to sleep, Satan comes to him and puts him to sleep." Hammad bin Zaid narrated this; Ayyub narrated this hadith to us from Ata bin Saib. When Ata came to Basra, Ayyub said to us: "The person who narrates the hadith about tasbih has arrived. Go and listen to it from him."

Muslim bin Harith narrates from his father: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) sent us on an expedition. When we reached near the required place, I spurred my horse and went ahead of my companions. At the place of "Raneen," I encountered a tribe. I said: Recite «لا الہ الا اللہ» , you will be safe. Those people recited this phrase. My companions reproached me and said: We have been deprived of the spoils of war, and this slipped from our hands. Then we presented ourselves before the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). My companions informed him about my action. The Prophet (peace be upon him) called me and expressed approval of my action. He said: "Indeed, Allah the Exalted will record for you a reward equal to every single person among those people." The narrator named Abdur Rahman says: I have forgotten the exact reward. The narrator says: The Prophet (peace be upon him) said to me: I will have a document written for you, and (in that document) I will instruct the Muslim rulers who come after me to grant you gifts regarding this matter. I will advise you about this, as to who will be the rulers of the Muslims after me. The narrator says: Then the Prophet (peace be upon him) had a document written for me, sealed it, and handed it over to me. He said: When you have performed the Maghrib prayer, before speaking to anyone, recite this phrase seven times: "O Allah! Grant me salvation from Hellfire." If you die that night, Allah the Exalted will record for you freedom from Hellfire. And when you have performed the Fajr prayer, before speaking to anyone, recite this phrase seven times: "O Allah! Grant me salvation from Hellfire." If you die that day, Allah the Exalted will record for you freedom from the Fire. The narrator says: When the Prophet (peace be upon him) passed away, I took that document and presented myself before Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him). Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) broke the seal, read the letter, then ordered payment to me and sealed it again. Then I went to Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) during his caliphate; he read it and ordered payment to me, and he also sealed it. Then I took it to Sayyiduna Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him), and he did the same. The narrator Muslim bin Harith says: Sayyiduna Harith bin Muslim (may Allah be pleased with him) passed away during the caliphate of Sayyiduna Uthman Ghani (may Allah be pleased with him). That document remained with us until Umar bin Abdul Aziz wrote a letter to the governor of our area, instructing him to present me and that document before Umar bin Abdul Aziz. I went to Umar bin Abdul Aziz. He broke the seal, ordered payment to me, and then sealed it again. Then he said: If I had wished, all this could have reached you at your home, but I wanted you to narrate this hadith to me. The narrator says: I narrated this hadith to him.

Sayyiduna Abu Ayyub Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:“Whoever recites these words in the morning: ‘There is no deity except Allah. He is the One and Only. He has no partner. Sovereignty belongs exclusively to Him. All praise is exclusively for Him. He has power over everything.’ If a person recites this statement ten times, then in return for these words, ten good deeds will be recorded for him. Ten of his sins will be erased. Because of these words, his ten ranks will be elevated, and these words will be equal to freeing four slaves for him, and these words will be a means of protection from Satan for him until the evening. Whoever recites these words after performing the Maghrib prayer, he will have this distinction until the morning. This narration is also transmitted with another chain. Sayyiduna Abu Ayyub Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) reports this statement of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): ‘Whoever recites this statement after performing the prayer:“There is no deity except Allah. He is the One and Only. He has no partner. Sovereignty belongs exclusively to Him. All praise is exclusively for Him, and He has power over everything.”Then, because of these words, ten good deeds will be recorded for him, ten of his sins will be forgiven, his ten ranks will be elevated, and these words will be equal to freeing ten slaves for him, and these words will be a means of protection from Satan for him. Whoever recites these words in the evening, he will have this distinction until the morning.’ (Imam Ibn Hibban, may Allah have mercy on him, says:) Yazid bin Yazid heard this narration from both Mak’hool and Qasim bin Mukhaymirah, and both chains are preserved.
