Sayyiduna Abu Darda (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: In the time of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), there was a drought. We requested him to pray for rain. He (peace and blessings be upon him) prayed for rain (and rain did descend). When morning came, he (peace and blessings be upon him) heard some people saying: "Rain has come because of such-and-such star." The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whenever Allah bestows a favor upon His servants, they become disbelievers because of it."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Whoever acquires knowledge of astrology has learned a part of magic."

Sayyiduna Abu Malik Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Four traits of the Age of Ignorance will be found in my Ummah; they will not abandon them: (1) boasting about lineage (family greatness), (2) defaming ancestry, (3) seeking rain through the stars, and (4) wailing (lamenting the dead)."

Sayyiduna Aswad bin Sari’ (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:“On the Day of Resurrection, four people will present their arguments: the deaf, the insane, the extremely elderly, and «فتره» (the one who died during the interval between prophets). The deaf will say: O my Lord, Islam did reach me, but I could not hear (so I could not do anything). The insane will say: Islam did reach me, but children would throw dung at me (meaning I was mad and could not understand Islam). The extremely elderly person will say: Islam did reach me, (but due to old age) I could not understand. The one who died in «فتره» will say: O my Lord! Your Messenger never came to me. Allah Almighty will take a covenant from all of them that they will certainly obey Him. Then Allah Almighty will send a messenger to them (to test them) who will say: Enter the fire.”Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:“By the One in Whose hand is my soul! If they enter it, it will be coolness and safety for them.”

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to a man: "Accept Islam." He said: "I dislike it." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Accept Islam even if you dislike it."

Sayyiduna Abu Darda (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that when the time of his death approached, he said: I am relating to you a hadith which I myself heard from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:“Worship Allah as if you see Him, and if you do not see Him, then surely He sees you. And consider yourself among the dead. And beware of the supplication of the oppressed, for it is accepted. And whoever can come to the ‘Isha and Fajr prayers, let him come, even if he has to crawl.”

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) says: The Messenger (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) took hold of a part of my body and said: "Worship Allah as if you see Him, and be in this world as if you are a stranger or a traveler."

Sayyiduna Mu’adh (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I said,“O Messenger of Allah! Advise me.”He (peace and blessings be upon him) said:“Worship Allah as if you see Him, consider yourself among the dead, remember Allah at every stone and tree, and whenever you commit an evil deed, follow it up immediately with a good deed (so that the effect of the evil is erased); for a hidden evil, do a hidden good deed, and for an open evil, do an open good deed.”

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) says: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) took hold of a part of my body and said: "Worship Allah as if you see Him, and be in this world as if you are a stranger (i.e., a foreigner) or rather a traveler."

Sayyiduna Mu’adh (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I said,“O Messenger of Allah! Advise me.”He (peace and blessings be upon him) said:“Worship Allah as if you see Him, consider yourself among the dead, remember Allah at every stone and tree, and whenever you commit an evil deed, follow it up immediately with a good deed (so that the effect of the evil is erased); for a hidden evil, do a hidden good deed, and for an open evil, do an open good deed.”
