Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I have been commanded to fight the people until they say «عربی» . When they say «عربی» , they will protect their wealth and lives from me, except for the right of Islam, and their reckoning will be with Allah the Exalted."

Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I have been commanded to fight the people until they testify that there is no deity except Allah and that Muhammad (peace be upon him) is the Messenger of Allah. (After affirming this monotheism and messengership) they establish prayer and pay zakat. When they do this, they will have protected their blood and their wealth from me, except by the right of Islam. And their (inner) account is with Allah."

Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I have been commanded to fight the people until they say «عربی» . When they say «عربی» , they will protect their blood and wealth from me, except for the right of Islam, and their reckoning is with Allah the Exalted." Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) recited this verse: (You are only a reminder; you are not a warder over them).

Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) says: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) commanded us to do four things and forbade us from five things: (The five things he permitted are these): (1) To close the door when going to sleep, (2) To tie the mouth of the waterskin, (3) To cover the vessels, and (4) To extinguish the lamp (when going to sleep), because Satan does not open a closed door, does not untie the mouth of a waterskin, does not remove the cover from a vessel, and this sinful animal, the mouse, can burn the house along with its inhabitants because of the burning lamp. (The five things he forbade are these): (1) Not to eat with the left hand, (2) Not to drink with the left hand, (3) Not to walk with only one shoe, (4) Not to wrap the sheet by first placing it on the right hand and left shoulder and then on the left hand and right shoulder (or not to wrap the sheet in such a way from all sides that even the hands cannot come out), and (5) Not to sit in the posture of habwah (sitting with knees drawn up and arms wrapped around them) in such a way that the private parts become exposed.

Sayyiduna Hudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The one I fear most for you is the man who will recite the Qur'an, and when the beauty of his voice becomes well-known, he will be considered a supporter of Islam, (but in reality) he will be devoid of Islam, he will throw it behind his back, he will raise his sword against his neighbor and accuse him of shirk (polytheism)." I said: O Messenger of Allah! Which of the two is closer to shirk, the one who makes the accusation or the one who is accused? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The one who makes the accusation."

Sayyiduna Ka‘b bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) says: When the time of Ka‘b’s death approached, Umm Mubashshir bint Bara bin Ma‘rur came to him and said: O ‘Abdur Rahman! If you meet my son, convey my greetings to him. He said: Umm Mubashshir! May Allah forgive you, we will be preoccupied and will not be able to do such a thing. She said: O ‘Abdur Rahman! Be alert! Did you not hear the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say:“Indeed, the souls of the believers are inside green birds, they eat from the trees of Paradise.”He said: Why not (I have heard it). She said: That is exactly what I am saying.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "When Islam began, it was strange (unfamiliar), and soon it will become strange again, so glad tidings are for the strangers (those who adopt this religion)." It was asked: O Messenger of Allah! Who are these people? He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "They are those who rectify (reform) the people when they become corrupt."

Mujahid says: I went towards Iraq, and Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) walked with us to bid us farewell. When he was about to part from us, he said: I have nothing to give you, but I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "When something is entrusted to Allah Almighty, He protects it." And I entrust your religion, your trust, and the end of your deeds to Allah Almighty.

Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:“Whoever shows enmity to a friend of Mine, I declare war against him. There is nothing by which My servant draws nearer to Me more beloved to Me than the things I have made obligatory upon him. And My servant continues to draw near to Me with supererogatory acts until I love him. And when I love him (as a result of his devotion, fulfillment of obligations, and diligence in supererogatory acts), I become his hearing with which he hears, his sight with which he sees, his hand with which he grasps, and his foot with which he walks. If he asks Me for anything, I will surely grant it to him, and if he seeks refuge with Me from anything, I will surely grant him refuge. And I do not hesitate about anything as I hesitate about seizing the soul of the believer, for he dislikes death and I dislike to displease him.”

Yunus bin Maisarah bin Hublas says: We went to Yazid bin Aswad and Sayyiduna Wathilah (may Allah be pleased with him) also arrived there. When Yazid saw him, he stretched out his hand and took his hand, and wiped it over his face and chest because with this hand he had pledged allegiance to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). He said: Yazid! What is your opinion about your Lord? He said: I have good expectations. He said: Rejoice, for I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Indeed, Allah Almighty says: I am as My servant thinks of Me; if he thinks well, then it will be good for him, and if he thinks badly, then it will be bad for him."
