-" اذهبوا بهذا الماء، فإذا قدمتم بلدكم فاكسروا بيعتكم وانضحوا مكانها من هذا الماء واتخذوا مكانها مسجدا".
Qais bin Talq narrates from his father Sayyiduna Talq that we set out as a delegation of six people towards the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him); five of us belonged to the tribe of Banu Hanifah and one was from Banu Zubay’ah bin Rabi’ah. We reached the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), pledged allegiance to him, and prayed with him. We informed him that there was a church in our land (which we wanted to convert into a mosque), so we requested from him the leftover water from his ablution. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) called for water, performed ablution, rinsed his mouth, then poured that water into a vessel and gave it to us, saying:“Take this water with you. When you reach your land, demolish the church, sprinkle this water there, and build a mosque on that spot.”We said: O Messenger of Allah! Our land is very far, so the water will dry up. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:“Keep adding water to it; it will only increase its purity.”We set out, but began to argue about who would carry the vessel of water (i.e., no one was willing to give it to another). The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) then assigned turns, so that each man would carry it for one night and one day. Thus, we set out until we reached our land, and we did exactly as the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) had commanded. There was a priest from the tribe of Tayy; when we gave the call to prayer, he said: This is the call of truth. (After saying this) he ran away somewhere and was not seen again.

ـ (كان يصلي الهجير (¬1)، ثم يصلي بعدها ركعتين، ثم يصلي العصر، ثم يصلي بعدها ركعتين).
Miqdam bin Shurayh narrates from his father, and he says: I asked Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) about the manner of the prayer of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). She said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) would pray the Zuhr prayer and then two rak‘ahs after it, then the ‘Asr prayer and then two rak‘ahs after it. I said: Sayyiduna ‘Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) used to punish and forbid (people) because of these two rak‘ahs (after ‘Asr)? Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said: ‘Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) himself used to pray this prayer, and he also knew that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) had prayed this prayer. In fact, the matter is that your people, the Yemenis, are of a foolish type. These people pray during the interval between Zuhr and ‘Asr, and then after performing the ‘Asr prayer, they also pray between ‘Asr and Maghrib, and because of this, ‘Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) punished them, and he did well.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him), he says that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The time for the beginning of a prayer is also the time for its end. The time for Zuhr begins when the sun declines (from its zenith), and when the time for Asr enters, the time for Zuhr ends. The first time for the Asr prayer is as it is, and when the sun becomes yellow, its (preferred) last time ends. The time for Maghrib begins at sunset and ends when the (red) twilight disappears from the horizon. The time for Isha begins when the (red) twilight disappears from the horizon and ends at midnight. The first time for Fajr begins at the appearance of dawn, and when the sun rises, its time ends."
