Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that an Ansari man had two strong bulls. Both of them became wild, so he put them in a garden and closed the door, then came to the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) to request supplication. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was sitting among some companions. He came and said:“O Messenger of Allah! I have come to you out of necessity. I have two bulls, both of them have become wild. I have put them in a garden and closed the door. Now I wish that you pray that Allah subjugates them for me.”The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to his companions:“Get up (let’s go).”He went until he reached the door of the garden. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:“Open the door.”The door was opened. One bull was standing near the door. When it saw the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), it prostrated to him. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:“Bring (a rope or something) so that I may tie its head and subjugate it for you.”He brought a halter, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) tied its head and subjugated it for him. Then he went to the other side of the garden to catch the second bull. When it saw the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), it also prostrated. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to the man:“Bring (a rope or something) so that I may tie its head.”The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) tied its head and gave it into his subjugation and said:“Go, now they will not rebel against you.”When the companions saw the scene (of prostration), they said:“O Messenger of Allah, these two bulls, who are without intellect, prostrate to you. Should we not prostrate to you?”The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:“I have not ordered anyone to prostrate to anyone. If I were to order anyone to prostrate to anyone, I would have ordered a woman to prostrate to her husband.”

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Zaid bin Arqam (may Allah be pleased with him) that Sayyiduna Mu'adh (may Allah be pleased with him) said: O Messenger of Allah! You must have seen that the People of the Book prostrate to their priests and scholars. Can we also prostrate to you? The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "If I were to command anyone to prostrate to another, I would have commanded a woman to prostrate to her husband. And a wife cannot fulfill the right of her husband until it is such that if he asks her for himself and she is on a saddle, she does not refuse him."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ali bin Abu Talib (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade women from conversing (in their homes) without the permission of their husbands.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Mu'adh bin Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "When a woman causes harm to her husband, one of the wide-eyed (heavenly) maidens from among his wives says: May Allah destroy you, do not cause him harm, he is only a guest with you, soon he will leave you and come to us."

Sahl bin Mu’adh bin Anas narrates from his father that a woman came to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and said:“O Messenger of Allah! My husband has gone out for jihad, and I used to follow him in all his (good) deeds. Now, please tell me of an act that will make me reach the level of his deeds.”The Prophet (peace be upon him) said to her:“Are you able to stand (in prayer) continuously without resting, and to fast continuously without breaking your fast any day, and to remember Allah constantly without ever being heedless, until he returns?”She said:“O Messenger of Allah! I do not have the strength for such deeds.”The Prophet (peace be upon him) said:“Even if you were able to do these deeds, you would still not reach even one-tenth of his deeds.”

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "It is not permissible for a wife to give a gift from her wealth without her husband's permission."

It is narrated from Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When a woman spends from the food (or provisions) of her house, provided she is not wasteful, she receives the reward for spending, the husband receives the reward for earning, and the treasurer (caretaker) also receives a similar reward. None of them diminishes the reward of the other in any way."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When a woman spends from her husband's earnings without his permission, she receives half the reward."

Sayyiduna Wathilah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A woman cannot spend anything from her wealth without her husband's permission."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When a man becomes the owner of a woman (through marriage), it is not permissible for her to give a gift (to anyone) without her husband's permission."
