Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) says that I returned from a journey and went to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). He (peace be upon him) said: "When you go to your family, take a wise step." When I went to my wife, I told her the statement of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him): "When you go to your family, take a wise step." She said: Then do so.

Salim bin Abdullah bin Umar narrates from his father that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A woman is an object of concealment; when she goes out, Satan looks at her, and she is closest to Allah when she is in the innermost part of her house."

Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:“(Three) names are the most beloved to Allah Almighty: Abdullah, Abdur-Rahman, and Harith.”

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdulwahab bin Bakht (may Allah be pleased with him), the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Abdullah and Abdur Rahman are the best names, and Hammam and Harith are the truest names, while the worst names are Harb and Murrah."

Sayyiduna Mughirah bin Shu’bah (may Allah be pleased with him) says that when I came to Najran, the people there asked me,“You people say (about Lady Maryam [peace be upon her] ) ‘O sister of Harun’ «يٰٓاُخْتَ هٰرُوْنَ» , whereas (Harun’s brother) Musa [peace be upon him] was much before Isa [peace be upon him] (so how could Lady Maryam [peace be upon her] be the sister of Sayyiduna Harun [peace be upon him] )?”When I came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), I asked him about this. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said:“They used to name (their children) after their prophets and righteous predecessors (i.e., Lady Maryam [peace be upon her] had a brother named Harun, and Musa [peace be upon him] also had a brother named Harun).”

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "They used to name (their children) after their prophets and righteous predecessors (that is, the brother of Lady Maryam (peace be upon her) was also named Harun, and the brother of Musa (peace be upon him) was also named Harun)."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) that he heard the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "If Allah wills and I remain alive, I will prohibit these names: Barakah, Nafi‘, and Aflah." I do not know whether he (peace and blessings be upon him) mentioned "Aflah" or not. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) passed away and he had not prohibited these names.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdulwahab bin Bakht (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Abdullah and Abdur Rahman are the best names, and Hammam and Harith are the truest names, while the worst names are Harb and Murrah."

Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) says that a man, who was called Shahab, was mentioned in the presence of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). The Prophet (peace be upon him), changing his name, said: "You are Hisham (not Shahab)."

Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) says that an old woman came to the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) while he was with me. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) asked her: "Who are you?" She said: "I am Juthamah Muzaniyyah." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "You are (not Juthamah but) Hassana Muzaniyyah. How are you? How have you been? How are you after us?" She said: "O Messenger of Allah! May my parents be sacrificed for you, I have been well and in good health." When she left, I said: "O Messenger of Allah! You pay so much attention to this old woman?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "She used to come to us during Khadijah's time, and taking good care of such a person is part of faith."
