Sayyiduna Sa’d bin Abi Waqqas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that when the matter of Sayyiduna ‘Uthman bin Maz’un (may Allah be pleased with him) abandoning women arose, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) sent a message to him:“Uthman, monasticism has not been prescribed for me. Have you turned away from my Sunnah?”He replied:“No, O Messenger of Allah!”The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:“My way is that I pray and I sleep, I fast and I break my fast, I marry women and I also divorce. Whoever turns away from my Sunnah is not from me. Uthman, your family has a right over you and your own self has a right over you.”Sa’d says: If the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) had left Sayyiduna ‘Uthman in his state, the Muslims would have resolved to become eunuchs and devote themselves solely to the worship of Allah Almighty, abandoning everything else.

The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Shall I not inform you about the men of Paradise? A prophet will enter Paradise, a truthful person will enter Paradise, a martyr will be in Paradise, a (minor) child will be in Paradise, and that man will enter Paradise who goes to meet his brother living on the other side of the city for the sake of Allah, the Exalted. Now, shall I not inform you about the women who will enter Paradise? Every loving and child-bearing woman, that when she is angered or treated badly or her husband is angry with her, she says (to her husband): 'Here is my hand in your hand, I will not sleep until you are pleased with me.'" This hadith is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas, Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas, and Sayyiduna Ka'b bin Ujrah (may Allah be pleased with them).

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Uzaynah Sadafi رضي الله عنه that the Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم said: "The best among your wives are those who are loving, bear many children, are agreeable, and are compassionate, provided that they fear Allah Almighty. And the worst women are those who adorn themselves in front of men other than their husbands and walk with arrogance; such women are hypocrites, and none of them will enter Paradise except as rare as a crow with a red beak and red feet."

Sayyiduna Zaid bin Arqam (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I say only what the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said. He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "O Allah! I seek refuge in You from helplessness and laziness, from cowardice and miserliness, from old age and the punishment of the grave. O Allah! Grant my soul piety and purify it, for You are the best to purify it. You are its Guardian and Lord. O Allah! I seek refuge in You from knowledge that does not benefit, from a heart that is not humble, from a soul that is not satisfied, and from a supplication that is not answered."

I seek refuge in You from an evil neighbor, and from a wife who makes me old before old age, and from children who become my masters, and from wealth that becomes a torment for me, and from a deceitful friend whose eyes watch me while his heart is plotting against me, who suppresses every good deed of mine and spreads every evil."

Sayyiduna Nu’man bin Bashir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) came and sought permission to enter upon the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). He had heard that Sayyidah A’ishah (may Allah be pleased with her) was raising her voice in the presence of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) granted him permission, and he entered and said:“O daughter of Umm Ruman!”and he wanted to grab her,“Do you raise your voice in the presence of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)?”But the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) intervened between them. When Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) left, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), trying to please Sayyidah A’ishah (may Allah be pleased with her), said:“See, I intervened between you and that man.”(Meanwhile) Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) came again and sought permission, and heard that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was making Sayyidah A’ishah (may Allah be pleased with her) laugh. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) granted him permission (to enter), and he entered. (This time) Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) said:“O Messenger of Allah! Include me in your atmosphere of peace and reconciliation just as you included me in your quarrel.”
