The Prophet’s son Ibrahim was being breastfed in a village near Madinah (by a wet nurse). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would go (to visit his son), and we would go with him. He would enter the house, and there would be smoke in the house because Ibrahim’s foster father was a blacksmith. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would pick up his son, kiss him, and then return. Amr bin Sa‘id says: When Ibrahim passed away, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:“My son Ibrahim has died in the age of nursing, but in Paradise, two wet nurses will complete his nursing period.”

Abu Ubaidah bin Hudhaifah narrates from his aunt, Sayyidah Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her), that she said: We went with a few women to tend to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). There was a water-skin hanging above the Prophet (peace be upon him), and due to the heat of the fever, its drops were dripping onto him. We said: O Messenger of Allah! If you pray to Allah Almighty for healing, He will grant you healing.
