Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr bin al-As (may Allah be pleased with him) heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Indeed, Allah Almighty hates evil words and deeds, and foul and obscene speech. By the One in Whose hand is my soul! The Hour will be established when the trustworthy betrays, the traitor is considered trustworthy, and evils such as foul speech, obscenity, severing of ties, and mistreatment of neighbors become widespread. Indeed, the example of a believer is like that of a (pure) piece of gold: its owner blows on it (in the bellows), but it neither changes nor diminishes. By the One in Whose hand is my soul! The example of a believer is like that of a honeybee: it eats what is pure, produces what is pure, and when it sits on (a flower, petal, or leaf), it neither breaks it nor spoils it."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ubayy bin Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The food of the son of Adam has set forth an example for the world. You see what comes out from the son of Adam (in the form of excrement) after he eats; even if the food is spiced and salted, he knows what it ultimately becomes."

Sayyidah Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The worst people of my Ummah are those who have been granted various blessings, but (forgetting the Hereafter) they begin to pay full attention to different kinds of foods and colorful clothes, and twist their mouths to speak eloquently and fluently."

Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, there are some people who are sources of goodness and prevent the ways of evil, and there are some who are sources of evil and prevent the ways of goodness. Glad tidings are for the person through whose hands Allah opens the paths of goodness, and destruction is for the person through whose hands Allah opens the paths of evil."

Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that during the digging of the trench, the companions of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to say: "We are those who have pledged allegiance to Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) to strive in jihad as long as we live." And the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would say: "O Allah! True goodness is the goodness of the Hereafter, so forgive the Ansar and the Muhajirun." Barley bread and a dish with a bad smell were brought to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), but all of them ate it, and the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The goodness of the Hereafter is the real goodness."

The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:“The one who is forgiven (after death) is the one who truly finds rest (from the world and its people).”This hadith has been narrated mursal from Lady Aisha, Sayyiduna Bilal al-Habashi (may Allah be pleased with them both), and Muhammad bin ‘Urwah.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) recited this verse: «هَلْ أَتَى عَلَى الْإِنْسَانِ حِينٌ مِنَ الدَّهْرِ لَمْ يَكُنْ شَيْئًا مَذْكُورًا» “Indeed, there came upon man a period of time when he was not a thing [even] mentioned.”(75: Al-Insan: 1) Then he said:“Surely, what I see you cannot see, and what I hear you cannot hear. (Listen) The heavens creak, and it is their right to creak, for there is not a space of four fingers in them except that there is an angel prostrating. By Allah! If you knew what I know, you would laugh little and weep much, you would abandon the enjoyment with your wives on your beds, and you would go out to the hills beseeching Allah.”

Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that a man came to me and said, "Advise me." I said, "I had asked the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) the same question before you, and he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) replied: 'I advise you to fear Allah, for it is the foundation of everything, and adhere to jihad, for it is the monasticism in Islam, and be constant in the remembrance of Allah and the recitation of the Qur'an, for it will be a source of mercy for you in the heavens and a source of good mention for you on the earth.'"

Sayyiduna Bara’ bin Azib (may Allah be pleased with him) says that we were sitting with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), when suddenly his gaze fell upon a group of people. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) asked,“What are these people gathered for?”It was said that they are digging a grave. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) became anxious and hurried ahead of the companions, reaching the grave and sitting down on his knees. I came in front of him to see what he was doing. (I saw) that he was weeping (and wept so much that) the ground became wet with his tears. Then he turned towards us and said:“My brothers! Prepare for this day.”

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Which one of you is there who loves the wealth of his heir more than his own wealth?" The companions replied: O Messenger of Allah! Every one of us loves his own wealth more than that of his heir. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Know this! Every one of you loves his own wealth more than that of his heir. (Remember that) your wealth is only that which you have sent forward (by giving in charity and good deeds), and whatever you leave behind will be the wealth of your heir."
