Mus'ab bin Sa'd narrates from his father, who said: We were with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and he said: "Are you incapable of earning a thousand good deeds every day?" One of those sitting there asked: "How can one do a thousand good deeds?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If someone says «سبحان الله» one hundred times, a thousand good deeds will be written for him or a thousand sins will be forgiven for him."

Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "The world is accursed and whatever is in it is accursed, except for the remembrance of Allah and those who adhere to it, or a scholar and a learner."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Salma (may Allah be pleased with him), who was a servant of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Wow! Wow!" He gestured five with his finger. (These remembrances) how heavy they will be in the scale: «سبحان الله، الحمدلله، لا اله الا الله، الله اكبر» (And the fifth thing) is a righteous son of someone who has passed away, whose father remains patient while hoping for reward from Allah Almighty."

Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:“ «سبحان الله، الحمدلله، لا اله الا الله» and «الله اكبر» are the everlasting good deeds.”

Sayyidah Umm Hani bint Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by me. I said: O Messenger of Allah! I have become old and weak, so tell me an action that I can do while sitting. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Say «سبحان الله» one hundred times; this remembrance is better for you than one hundred slaves from the descendants of Isma'il (peace be upon him) whom you set free. Say «الحمد لله» one hundred times; this remembrance is better for you than one hundred saddled and bridled horses that you give in charity in the way of Allah. Say «الله اكبر» one hundred times; this remembrance is better for you than one hundred camels with necklaces, accepted by Allah, that are slaughtered in Makkah. Say «لا اله الا الله» one hundred times; this remembrance will fill the space between the heavens and the earth (with reward), and on that day, no one will have any deed that rises up to the heavens better than this, except for a person who does the same as you do."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever says «لَا إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّا اللَّـهُ» , then one day this statement will save him from calamities and misfortunes; whatever has happened before, has happened."

Sayyiduna Salman (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A man said «الحمدلله كثيرا» 'All praise is due to Allah, abundant praise.' This word was burdensome for the angel to write, so he spoke to Allah Almighty. He was told, 'Write it as My servant has said «كثيرا» .'"

Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Just as Allah Almighty has distributed your sustenance among you, likewise He has distributed your character among you. And indeed, Allah Almighty gives the world to the one He loves and to the one He does not love, but He grants faith only to the one whom He loves. So whoever is miserly in spending wealth, fears fighting the enemy, and is distressed by the hardship and toil of the night, then let him frequently recite these words: «سبحان الله، والحمدلله ولا اله الا الله، والله اكبر» ."

Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:“ «مفردون» have taken the lead.”The companions asked: O Messenger of Allah! Who are «مفردون» ? He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:“Those who are devoted to the remembrance of Allah, the Exalted.”

Sayyiduna Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the companions of the Prophet said to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): O Messenger of Allah! The wealthy have taken all the reward, (because) they pray as we pray and fast as we fast, but they give charity from their extra wealth. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:“Has Allah not given you means by which you can give charity? (Indeed, He has, and their details are as follows:) Saying «سبحان اللہ» is charity, saying «الحمد للہ» is charity, saying «الله اکبر» is charity, saying «لا اله الا الله» is charity, enjoining good is charity, forbidding evil is charity, and having relations with your wife is charity.”They asked: If one of us fulfills his desire, is there reward for him in that? (How is that?) The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:“Tell me, if he were to use his private part in something unlawful (adultery), would he not bear a sin? (Certainly he would.) In the same way, if he uses it in something lawful, he will have a reward.”
