Virtues of the Ansar.
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "The Ansar are my intestines and my bundles (meaning, those who keep my clothes, i.e., my special trusted and reliable people). And people will increase while the Ansar will decrease, so accept their good deeds and overlook their faults."

Goodness in the houses of the Ansar.
Narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Usaid Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: The best house among the Ansar is that of Banu Najjar, then Banu Abd al-Ashhal, then Banu Harith bin Khazraj, then Banu Sa‘idah, and there is goodness in every house of the Ansar. Abu Salamah said that Sayyiduna Abu Usaid said: Do you think I would accuse the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)? If I were lying, I would have mentioned my own tribe, Banu Sa‘idah, first. When this news reached Sayyiduna Sa‘d bin ‘Ubadah (may Allah be pleased with him), he was grieved and began to say: We have been left behind, we are the last of the four. Saddle my donkey so that I may go to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). The nephew of Sayyiduna Sahl (may Allah be pleased with him) said to him: Are you going to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) to refute his words, even though he knows best? Is it not enough for you that you are the fourth among the four? Hearing this, Sayyiduna Sa‘d turned back and said: Allah and His Messenger (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) know best, and he ordered the saddle to be removed from the donkey.

‘Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) says that I went out on a journey with Sayyiduna Jarir bin Abdullah Bajali (may Allah be pleased with him), and he used to serve me. I said to him,“Do not serve me (because you are older).”He said,“I have seen the Ansar doing work with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), so I have sworn that whenever I am with any of the Ansar, I will serve him (i.e., the way the Ansar treated you and protected you from the enemy, etc.).”And Sayyiduna Jarir (may Allah be pleased with him) was older than Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him).

Virtues of the Ash'ariyyin.
Sayyiduna Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I recognize the voices of the Ash‘aris from their recitation of the Qur’an when they come at night, and I also recognize their dwellings by their voices at night, even though I have not seen their dwellings during the day when they descend during the day. And among them is a wise man who, when he meets the cavalry of the disbelievers or the enemy, says to them:“Our people say to you, give us some respite or wait a little,”meaning,“We too are ready and coming to fight.”(That is, he saves himself with wisdom and prudence, because the enemy thinks that he is not alone, but that there are others with him.)

Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Indeed, when the people of the Ash‘ari tribe run short of provisions during a battle, or when the food of their families in Madinah becomes scarce, they gather whatever they have in a cloth and then distribute it equally among themselves. These people are from me and I am from them (meaning I am pleased with them and I like such unity).

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: If (the tribes of) Aslam, Ghifar, Muzaynah, and Juhaynah are better than Banu Tamim, Banu Amir, Asad, and Ghatafan, then these people (i.e., Banu Tamim and others) are at a loss and have failed? He said: Yes. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: By Him in Whose hand is my soul, they are better than them (i.e., the tribes of Aslam and Ghifar, etc., are better than the tribe of Banu Tamim and others).
