Virtues of Jarir ibn Abdullah al-Bajali.
`Sayyiduna Jarir (may Allah be pleased with him) says that the Messenger of Allah said to me, "O Jarir! Will you not relieve me from Dhu al-Khalasah?" And Dhu al-Khalasah was an idol house of the tribe of Khath'am, which was also called the Yemeni Ka'bah. Sayyiduna Jarir (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "I went there with one hundred and fifty horsemen, and I could not sit firmly on a horse, so I mentioned this to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). He struck his hand on my chest and said, 'O Allah, make him firm and make him one who guides and is guided.' Then Sayyiduna Jarir (may Allah be pleased with him) went and set Dhu al-Khalasah on fire. After that, a man named Abu Artat was sent to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) to give the good news. He came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and said, 'We have left Dhu al-Khalasah like a mangy camel.' (A mangy camel is smeared with black oil, meaning it too had become blackened by burning.) The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) prayed for blessings five times for the horses and men of the tribe of Ahmas.

Virtues of the Companions of the Tree (Bay'at al-Ridwan).
Narrated from Sayyida Umm Mubashshir (may Allah be pleased with her) that she heard the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) saying to Umm al-Mu’minin Hafsa (may Allah be pleased with her) that, if Allah wills, none of the people of the Tree will enter Hell. That is, those who pledged allegiance under the tree. She said,“O Messenger of Allah! Why will they not enter?”The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) rebuked her. Hafsa (may Allah be pleased with her) said that Allah Almighty says:“There is not one of you but will pass over it (Hell)”(Surah Maryam: 71). Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Indeed, Allah Almighty says:“Then We will save those who feared Allah and leave the wrongdoers within it, on their knees”(Surah Maryam: 72).

Virtues of the martyrs of Badr.
‘Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) sent me, Sayyiduna Zubair (may Allah be pleased with him), and Sayyiduna Miqdad (may Allah be pleased with him) to the place of Rawdat Khakh and said: Go, and there you will find a woman riding a camel. She has a letter with her; take it from her and bring it back. We set off quickly on our horses, and suddenly we found the woman. We said to her: Hand over the letter. She said: I do not have any letter. We said: Produce the letter, or else remove your clothes. So she took out the letter from her garments. We brought that letter to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). It was written from Hatib bin Abi Balta’ah to some of the polytheists of Makkah, and it mentioned some matters of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). (In one narration, it is mentioned that Hatib informed the disbelievers about the preparations and readiness of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and the departure to Makkah.) The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: O Hatib! What is this that you have done? He said: O Messenger of Allah! Do not be hasty (i.e., do not punish me immediately; please listen to my situation). I was a person attached to the Quraysh, meaning I was their ally, but not one of them. The Muhajirun who are with you have relatives among the Quraysh, because of whom their households are protected. So I wanted, since I have no ties with the Quraysh, to do something for them so that they would protect my family and dependents. I did not do this out of disbelief or apostasy, nor did I do it after becoming Muslim out of pleasure with disbelief. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Hatib has spoken the truth. Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: O Messenger of Allah! Allow me to strike the neck of this hypocrite. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: He participated in the Battle of Badr, and you do not know that Allah looked upon the people of Badr and said: Do whatever you wish (so long as it does not reach disbelief), I have forgiven you. Then Allah revealed this verse:“O you who believe! Do not take My enemies and your enemies as friends...”(Surah Al-Mumtahanah: 1).

Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say that the women of Quraysh are the best women who have ever ridden camels; they are the most compassionate to their children (when they are young) and the best guardians of their husbands’ wealth. (The narrator says that) Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) used to say that Sayyidah Maryam bint ‘Imran (may Allah be pleased with her) never rode a camel.

And we do not wish that this verse had not been revealed, because Allah Almighty says: "And Allah was their protector."

`Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that a woman from the Ansar came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) spoke to her in seclusion (perhaps she was a mahram, like Umm Sulaym or Umm Haram, or by seclusion it is meant that she asked the Prophet [peace and blessings be upon him] something privately), and he said: "By the One in whose hand is my soul, you are the most beloved to me among all people." He said this three times.
