Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say:“Listen! No man should sit in seclusion with a woman except that there is a mahram relative with her, and no woman should travel except that there is a mahram relative with her.”A man said: O Messenger of Allah! My name has been written for such-and-such battle, while my wife is going for Hajj. So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:“Go and perform Hajj with your wife.”

Abdur Rahman bin Abi Mulaika narrated: A man came to Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them), so he asked: Where have you come from? He replied: I have drunk the water of Zamzam. He (Ibn Abbas) said: Did you drink it in the manner it should be drunk? He replied: How should it be drunk? He said: When you intend to drink the water of Zamzam, face the Qiblah, then say Bismillah, then drink it in three breaths, then fill yourself with it, because the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The difference between us and the hypocrites is that they do not fill themselves with the water of Zamzam (they do not drink much of it)."

Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrated: In the days of ignorance, Dhu al-Majaz and ‘Ukaz were commercial centers. When Islam came, it was as if they disliked (trading during the days of Hajj), so Allah the Exalted revealed this verse: «لَيْسَ عَلَيْكُمْ جُنَاحٌ أَن تَبْتَغُوا فَضْلًا مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ» "There is no sin upon you that you seek the bounty of your Lord." That is, (do trade) during the months of Hajj.

Ibn Jurayj narrated: ‘Ata’ (may Allah have mercy on him) was asked about a person in the state of ihram—can he buy and sell? He said: They used to avoid it, until this verse was revealed: «لَيْسَ عَلَيْكُمْ جُنَاحٌ أَن تَبْتَغُوا فَضْلًا مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ» “There is no sin upon you that you seek the bounty of your Lord.”That is, during the months of Hajj.

Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrated from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), he (peace be upon him) said: "This is the ‘Umrah from which we have benefited, so whoever does not have a sacrificial animal should come out of ihram." It was asked to him, what kind of coming out of ihram is meant? (i.e., from which restrictions of ihram is one exempted?) He (peace be upon him) said: "All matters (which were forbidden due to ihram) have become permissible." He said: "‘Umrah has been included in Hajj until the Day of Resurrection." Ishaq (may Allah have mercy on him) said: That is, performing ‘Umrah in the months of Hajj is permissible until the Day of Resurrection, and this is because the people of the Age of Ignorance did not consider it permissible to perform ‘Umrah in the months of Hajj.
