Hadith Number: 2098
اخبرنا يحيى بن حسان، حدثنا سليمان بن بلال، عن هشام بن عروة، عن ابيه، عن عائشة، ان النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: "لا يجوع اهل بيت عندهم التمر".
It is narrated from Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The household in whose house there are dates will not remain hungry."

حدثنا ابو نعيم، حدثنا مصعب بن سليم، قال: سمعت انس بن مالك يقول: "اهدي إلى النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم تمر فاخذ يهديه". وقال:"رايت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم ياكل تمرا مقعيا من الجوع". قال ابو محمد: يهديه: يعني: يرسله ههنا وههنا..
Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) says: Dates were presented as a gift to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), so he distributed them here and there (i.e., among the neighbors). Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) sitting squatting and eating dates due to hunger. Imam Abu Muhammad Darimi (may Allah have mercy on him) said: The meaning of «يُهَدِّيْهِ» is that he sent those dates here and there.

Chapter: Ablution After Eating
Hadith Number: 2100
اخبرنا عمرو بن عون، عن خالد، عن سهيل، عن ابيه، عن ابي هريرة، قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: "من نام وفي يده ريح غمر فعرض له عارض، فلا يلومن إلا نفسه".
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever goes to sleep while there is the smell of grease on his hand (i.e., sleeps without washing it), and then something harms him, then he should blame only himself."

Chapter: The Wedding Feast (Walima)
Hadith Number: 2101
اخبرنا يزيد بن هارون، اخبرنا حميد، عن انس، ان النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم، قال لعبد الرحمن بن عوف، وراى عليه وضرا من صفرة:"مهيم؟"قال: تزوجت، قال: "اولم ولو بشاة".
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saw a trace of yellow color on Sayyiduna Abdur Rahman bin Awf (may Allah be pleased with him), so he said: "What is this yellow color?" He replied: "I have gotten married." The Prophet said: "(Then) give a wedding feast, even if it is with only one goat."

Hadith Number: 2102
اخبرنا عفان، حدثنا همام، حدثنا قتادة، عن الحسن، عن عبد الله بن عثمان الثقفي، عن رجل من ثقيف اعور، قال: كان يقال له معروف: اي يثنى عليه خير إن لم يكن اسمه زهير بن عثمان، فلا ادري ما اسمه، ان النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: "الوليمة اول يوم حق، والثاني معروف، والثالث سمعة ورياء". قال قتادة: وحدثني رجل، عن سعيد بن المسيب، انه دعي اول يوم فاجاب، ودعي اليوم الثاني فاجاب، ودعي اليوم الثالث فحصب الرسول ولم يجبه، وقال:"اهل سمعة ورياء".
It is narrated from Abdullah bin Uthman Thaqafi. A blind man from Thaqif, who was known among people for his goodness, said—his name was Zuhair bin Uthman, and if it was not this name, then I do not know what his name was. He said that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "The food of the wedding feast (walimah) is necessary on the first day, better on the second day (that is, one should invite and accept the invitation), and the walimah on the third day is for show and ostentation." Qatadah said: A person told me that Sa'id bin al-Musayyib was invited on the first day and he accepted, he also accepted the invitation on the second day, but he did not accept the invitation on the third day and said that these people are seeking fame and show.

Hadith Number: 2103
اخبرنا ابو المغيرة، حدثنا الاوزاعي، عن الزهري، عن الاعرج، عن ابي هريرة، انه قال: "شر الطعام طعام الوليمة، يدعى إليه الاغنياء، ويترك المساكين، ومن ترك الدعوة، فقد عصى الله ورسوله".
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The worst food is the food of the wedding feast (walimah) to which the rich are invited and the poor are left out, and whoever does not accept the invitation has disobeyed Allah and His Messenger.

Hadith Number: 2104
اخبرنا سعيد بن سليمان، عن سليمان بن المغيرة، عن ثابت، عن انس، قال: جاء رجل قد صنع طعاما إلى رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، فقال: يا رسول الله، هكذا واوما إليه بيده، قال: يقول له رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: هكذا، واشار إلى عائشة، قال: لا، فاعرض عنه رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، فاوما إليه الثانية: واوما إليه رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، فاعرض عنه رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، فاوما إليه الثالثة، فقال له رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم:"وهذه؟"قال: نعم، فانطلق معه رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، وعائشة فاكلا من طعامه".
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man prepared food and came to the service of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). With a gesture of his hand, he submitted: O Messenger of Allah! Please come for food. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) also gestured towards Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), asking: Will she come with me? He said: (There is not enough space). The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) turned his attention away from him. He again gestured to invite the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and the Prophet again gestured towards Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her). He gave the same reply, so the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) again turned his attention away from him. That man, for the third time, gestured to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) to come, so the Prophet again gestured towards Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her). Then he said: Take her along as well. Thus, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) both went with him and ate from his spread.

اخبرنا محمد بن يوسف، عن سفيان، عن الاعمش، عن ابي وائل، عن ابي مسعود، قال: كان رجل يقال له ابو شعيب، وكان له غلام لحام، فقال: اصنع لي طعاما ادعو رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم خامس خمسة. قال: فدعا رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم خامس خمسة، فتبعهم رجل، فقال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم:"إنك دعوتنا خامس خمسة، وهذا رجل قد تبعني، فإن شئت اذنت له، وإن شئت تركته". قال: فاذن له.
Sayyiduna Abu Mas’ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said: A companion whose kunyah was Abu Shu’aib said to his servant, who was a butcher,“Prepare food for me that will suffice for five people, for I wish to invite the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him).”So he invited the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and four companions to come with him. Another companion also joined along with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:“You invited us along with four men, and this person has also joined us. Either give him permission (to eat) or, if you wish, you may send him back.”The narrator said: He also gave him permission (to enter and eat).

حدثنا عمرو بن عون، حدثنا خالد، عن ابي طوالة: عبد الله بن عبد الرحمن بن معمر، عن انس، قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: "فضل عائشة على النساء، كفضل الثريد على سائر الطعام".
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The superiority of Aisha over all women is like the superiority of tharid over all foods."

باب فِيمَنِ اسْتَحَبَّ أَنْ يَنْهَسَ اللَّحْمَ وَلاَ يَقْطَعَهُ:
Chapter: Preferring to Bite Meat Rather Than Cut It
Hadith Number: 2107
حدثنا علي بن المديني، حدثنا سفيان، حدثنا عبد الكريم: ابو امية، قال: قال عبد الله بن الحارث بن نوفل: زوجني ابي في إمارة عثمان، فدعا رهطا من اصحاب رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، فكان فيمن دعا صفوان بن امية وهو شيخ كبير، فقال: إن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، قال: "انهسوا اللحم نهسا، فإنه اشهى وامرا".
Abdullah bin Harith bin Naufal said: My father married me during the caliphate of Sayyiduna Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him), so he invited a group of the Companions of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) to the wedding. Among those invited was Sayyiduna Safwan bin Umayyah (may Allah be pleased with him), who was elderly. He said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Tear the meat with your teeth and eat it, for eating meat in this way is very delicious and very beneficial."
