It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that we were with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), he went to the toilet, then came out, asked for food and began to eat. Someone asked: O Messenger of Allah! Will you not perform ablution? He replied: "Why, am I about to pray that I should perform ablution?"

Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that I used to know that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) had finished the prayer by hearing the sound of takbeer. Benefit: What is meant by this is the takbeer after the completion of the prayer, when the Imam places his hand on his head and says "Allahu Akbar" or "Astaghfirullah"; otherwise, the prayer does not end with takbeer, but with salam.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "No man should sit in seclusion with a non-mahram woman, and no woman should travel without a mahram." A man came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: "My wife is going for Hajj while my name has been registered for such-and-such expedition for jihad?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Go, and perform Hajj with your wife."

Saeed bin Jubair (may Allah have mercy on him) says that once Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) remembered the day of Thursday and said: "What was the day of Thursday?" Saying this, he began to weep until the pebbles lying there became wet with his tears. We asked: "O Abu al-Abbas! What happened on the day of Thursday?" He replied that the illness of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had intensified. On that occasion, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Bring me writing materials, so that I may write for you a document after which you will never go astray." There arose a difference of opinion among the people, although it was not appropriate in the presence of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). People began to say: "What has happened? Can the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) also speak incoherently? Go and ask again what he intends." So the people returned, but the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Leave me now, for the state I am in is better than what you are calling me to." Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) made a bequest of three things: "Expel the polytheists from the Arabian Peninsula, honor the incoming guests just as I used to honor them," and regarding the third matter, Saeed bin Jubair (may Allah have mercy on him) remained silent. I do not know whether he deliberately remained silent or forgot.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that people used to leave after performing Hajj in whatever manner they wished. Upon this, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "No person should return until his last act is the circumambulation (Tawaf) of the House of Allah (the Ka'bah)."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) arrived in Madinah, he found that the people there used to transact dates on deferred payment for one, two, or three years. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever does a Salam sale in dates, he should specify its measure, specify its weight, and specify its term."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that, to my knowledge, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not fast on any day seeking its virtue over other days, except for the Day of Ashura and this blessed month of Ramadan.

Hazrat Salim (may Allah have mercy on him) says that once Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) was asked about a person who killed a Muslim, then repented, embraced faith, performed good deeds, and remained steadfast on the path of guidance. He replied: Woe to you, how will he find guidance? I heard your Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) saying that the murdered person will be brought in such a state that he will be clinging to his killer, and will say, "O Lord! Ask him for what crime did he kill me?" By Allah! Allah revealed this to your Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), and after revealing it, He never abrogated it. Woe to you, how will he find guidance?

Note: This is the opinion of Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both). The majority of the Ummah agrees that if the killer, after repenting, adorns himself with faith and righteous deeds, his repentance is accepted. In the case of fulfilling the rights of people or punishment, in any case, due to the blessing of the Kalimah, he will definitely be saved from Hell at some point.
