It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that I bear witness regarding the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he led the prayer on the day of Eid before delivering the sermon, then he delivered the sermon. Afterwards, it occurred to him that the women might not have heard his voice, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to the women and admonished and advised them, and instructed them to give charity. Upon this, the women began to take off their earrings and rings, etc., and give them as charity.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was drinking something, Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) was sitting on his right side and Sayyiduna Khalid bin Walid (may Allah be pleased with him) was on his left side. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him, "The right to drink is yours, but if you wish, shall I give preference to Khalid and give it to him?" He replied, "I cannot give preference to anyone over the drink left by the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)."

Ibn Abi Mulaikah (may Allah have mercy on him) says that during the illness of death of Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), Sayyidina Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) sought permission to enter upon her. Her nephews were with her. She said: "I fear that he will come and praise me." Nevertheless, she gave permission. He came in and said: "Only so much time remains between you and your friends as it takes for the soul to depart from the body. Among all the pure wives of the Prophet (peace be upon him), you were the most beloved to him, and the Prophet (peace be upon him) loved only that which was pure. On the occasion of Laylat al-Abwa, your necklace broke and fell, and verses of the Noble Qur'an were revealed regarding your matter. Now, there is no mosque of the Muslims where your excuse is not recited day and night." Hearing this, she said: "O Ibn Abbas! Leave these praises of yours. By Allah! My wish is... (that I am neither at loss nor gain)."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If a person, when approaching his wife for intimacy, recites this supplication: «بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ اللّٰهُمَّ جَنِّبْنِي الشَّيْطَانَ وَجَنِّبْ الشَّيْطَانَ مَا رَزَقْتَنَا» 'In the name of Allah, O Allah! Protect me from Satan and protect whatever offspring You grant us from Satan,' then if it is decreed that they have a child, Satan will never be able to harm that child."

Abdul Aziz bin Rafi’ (may Allah have mercy on him) says that I and Shaddad bin Ma’qil went to the service of Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both), he said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) has left only that which is between the two covers (i.e., the Noble Qur’an). We went to Muhammad bin Ali and he also said the same. It would have been better if he had used the word“revelation”(so that hadith would also be included).

Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that when the Noble Qur’an was being revealed to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), he wished to memorize it as it was being revealed. Upon this, Allah revealed this verse: «﴿لَا تُحَرِّكْ بِهِ لِسَانَكَ لِتَعْجَلَ بِهِ o إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا جَمْعَهُ وَقُرْآنَهُ o فَإِذَا قَرَأْنَاهُ فَاتَّبِعْ قُرْآنَهُ﴾ [القيامة: 16-18] » “Do not move your tongue with it to hasten it. Indeed, upon Us is its collection and its recitation. So when We have recited it, then follow its recitation.”
