It is narrated from Sayyiduna Amir bin Shahr that I have heard two things, one from the Prophet ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) and one from Najashi. I heard the Prophet ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) say: "Observe the Quraysh, take their words but leave their actions." And once I was sitting with Najashi when his son brought a book and read a verse from the Gospel. I understood its meaning and began to laugh. Seeing this, Najashi said: "What are you laughing at? At the Book of Allah? By Allah, Allah revealed this to Sayyiduna Isa: 'There will be a curse upon the earth when children become its rulers.'"

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Muawiyah Laithi that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: People are afflicted with famine, then Allah sends down His provision upon them, but the very next day people associate others with Him in it. Someone asked, "O Messenger of Allah! How is that?" He replied: People say, "We received rain because of such-and-such star."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Muawiyah bin Jahmah that once Jahmah came to the service of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said, "O Messenger of Allah! I want to participate in jihad and have come to you for advice." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked, "Is your mother alive?" He replied, "Yes." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Then keep her service obligatory upon yourself, for Paradise is beneath her feet." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said this a second time, a third time, and even several times.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Harith bin Ziyad that once, on the occasion of the Battle of the Trench, he presented himself in the service of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) while the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was taking the pledge of migration from the people. He said: O Messenger of Allah! Please include this person in the pledge as well. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: Who is he? He replied: He is my cousin, Hut bin Yazid. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I will not take the pledge from you. People come to you by migrating; you do not go to them by migrating. By the One in Whose hand is my soul, whoever loves the Ansar will meet Allah and Allah will meet him in such a way that Allah Himself loves him. Whoever harbors hatred against the Ansar will meet Allah and Allah will meet him in such a way that Allah Himself hates him.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Harith bin Ziyad (may Allah be pleased with him) that once, on the occasion of the Battle of the Trench, he came to the service of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), at that time the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was taking the pledge of migration from the people. He said: O Messenger of Allah! Please also take the pledge from this person. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Who is he? He replied: He is my cousin, Hut bin Yazid (or Yazid bin Hut). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I will not take the pledge from you. People come to you after migrating, you do not go to them after migrating. By the One in whose hand is the life of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), whoever meets Allah loving the Ansar, will meet Allah in such a state that Allah Himself will love him, and whoever meets Allah hating the Ansar, will meet Allah in such a state that Allah Himself will hate him.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Shakl bin Humaid that once I submitted in the court of the Messenger: O Messenger of Allah! Teach me a supplication from which I may benefit. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: Make this supplication: O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the evil of my hearing, my sight, my heart, and my desires.

The previous hadith is also narrated through this second chain of transmission.

Ya’ish bin Takhfah says that my father was among the people of Suffah. The Prophet (peace be upon him) instructed people regarding them, so people began to take them along one or two at a time. He says that only five men remained, among whom I was one. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: You people come with me. So we went with the Prophet (peace be upon him) to the house of Sayyidah Aisha. When the Prophet (peace be upon him) arrived there, he said: Aisha, serve us food. She brought some dates, which we ate. Then she brought a little date halwa, and we ate that too. Then the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: Aisha, give us water to drink. So she brought water in a large bowl, which we all drank. Then she brought a small bowl in which there was milk, and we drank that too. Then the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: If you wish, you may spend the night here, or if you wish, go to the mosque. I said: No, we will go to the mosque. I was lying on my stomach sleeping at the time of suhoor when suddenly a man came and began to move me with his foot and said that this way of lying down is disliked by Allah. I looked and it was the Prophet (peace be upon him).

The previous hadith is also narrated through this second chain of transmission.

Sayyiduna Tufah reports that the Prophet ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) hosted some people, so we went with the Prophet ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) to his house. During the night, I was lying on my stomach and sleeping when suddenly the Prophet ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) came and started shaking me with his foot and said, "This way of lying down is the way of the people of Hell."
