Hadith of the messenger of Caesar to the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him)
Hadith Number: 16694
Abdullah bin Ahmad narrated to us, he said: Abu ‘Amir Hawtharah bin Ashras dictated to me, he said: Hammad bin Salamah narrated to me, from Abdullah bin ‘Uthman bin Khuthaym, from Sa‘id bin Abi Rashid, who said: The messenger of Caesar was my neighbor during the time of Yazid bin Mu‘awiyah, so I said to him: Tell me about the letter of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, to Caesar. He said: Indeed, the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, sent Dihyah al-Kalbi to Caesar, and wrote a letter with him to him, and he mentioned something similar to the hadith of ‘Abbad bin ‘Abbad, and the hadith of ‘Abbad is more complete and better in relating the story, and he added: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, laughed when he invited him to Islam, but he refused to accept Islam, and he recited this verse:“Indeed, you do not guide whom you love, but Allah guides whom He wills”__QUR_28_56__, then the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said:“You are a messenger of a people and you have a right, but you have come to us while we are in hardship.”So ‘Uthman bin ‘Affan said: I will clothe him with a saffron-colored garment, and a man from the Ansar said: I will host him.

Sayyiduna Ibn Abas narrates that I used to graze a cow belonging to my family. One day, I heard a voice from its belly saying, "O family of Dharih! An eloquent statement is being proclaimed by a person, saying: There is no deity except Allah." After that, when we reached Makkah Mukarramah, we found out that the Prophet (peace be upon him) had proclaimed prophethood.

Sayyiduna Uthman Ghani said, "One hundred camels with saddles and reins are my responsibility." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) encouraged the people in the same way three times, and each time Sayyiduna Uthman Ghani took the responsibility of one hundred camels. The remainder of the hadith of Abu al-Ghadiyah (may Allah be pleased with him)
Hadith Number: 16698
It is narrated from Kulthum bin Habr that once we were sitting with Abdul A'la bin Amir in the city of Wasit, when a man present there, whose name was Abu Ghadiyah, asked for water. So, water was brought in a silver vessel, but he refused to drink that water and, mentioning the Prophet (peace be upon him), narrated this hadith: "Do not become disbelievers or misguided after me, striking each other's necks." Suddenly, a man began to abuse another. I said, "By Allah! If Allah grants me power over you in the army (I will settle the account with you)." Coincidentally, during the Battle of Siffin, I came face to face with him. He was wearing armor, but I recognized him through the gaps in the armor. So, I struck him with a spear and killed him. Later, I found out that he was none other than Sayyiduna Ammar bin Yasir. So, I regretfully said, "What kind of hands are these that express dislike for drinking water from a silver vessel, while these very hands have martyred Sayyiduna Ammar?"

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Ghadiyah Juhani that on the Day of Aqabah, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) addressed us and said: O people! It is narrated from Sayyiduna Dhirar (may Allah be pleased with him) that once I presented myself in the court of the Messenger and said: Extend your hand so that I may pledge allegiance to you upon Islam. Then I recited some verses (the translation of which is as follows): I have left behind the cup, the songs of female singers, and wine, even though I had to endure hardship for it, but I did these things with humility, and in the darkness of night, I left behind fine places and placed the burden of fighting upon the polytheists. Therefore, O Lord! Protect my trade from loss, for in exchange for it I have sold my family and wealth. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: O Dhirar!
