It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Tha'labah (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saw a gold ring in his hand. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) began to move his hand with his stick. Meanwhile, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) turned his attention elsewhere, so he took off his ring and threw it away. When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) looked again, he did not see the ring on his finger. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Perhaps we have caused you trouble and made you indebted."

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Tha’labah (may Allah be pleased with him) that he submitted in the court of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him): O Messenger of Allah! We live in the area of the People of the Book. Can we cook food in their pots and drink from their utensils? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: If you do not find any other utensils, then wash those and you may cook food in them. Then I submitted: O Messenger of Allah! We live in a hunting area, what should we do? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When you send your trained dog for hunting and you have pronounced the name of Allah upon it, and it kills the prey, then eat it. And if it is not trained, then slaughter the prey and eat it. Similarly, when you shoot an arrow taking the name of Allah, and the arrow kills the prey, then eat that as well.

Abdur Rahman bin Ghanm says that when the plague spread in Syria, Hazrat Amr bin Al-As (may Allah be pleased with him) addressed the people and said: "This plague is a punishment, so disperse from this area and go into these ravines and valleys." When Hazrat Shurahbil bin Hasana (may Allah be pleased with him) learned of this, he became angry and came dragging his clothes, holding his shoe in his hand, and said: "I have had the companionship of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Amr is speaking more foolishly than the donkey of his own house. This (plague) has been the mercy of your Lord, the supplication of your Prophet, and the cause of death for the righteous people before you." (When Hazrat Amr bin Al-As (may Allah be pleased with him) learned of this, he affirmed Hazrat Shurahbil's (may Allah be pleased with him) statement.)

It is narrated from Hazrat Abdur Rahman bin Hasnah (may Allah be pleased with him) that once we were on a journey with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). We camped in an area where there was an abundance of lizards. We caught them and slaughtered them, and while they were still cooking in the pots, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to us and said: "A group from the Children of Israel was lost; I fear that these may be the same." Therefore, you should overturn the pots. So the companions (may Allah be pleased with them) overturned them.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abdur Rahman bin Hasnah (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) came to us, and in his blessed hand was something like a leather shield. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) placed it in front of himself as a screen and began to urinate while sitting. Someone said, "Look, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) is urinating while sitting like women." The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) heard this and said, "Alas! Do you not know what happened to a man among the Children of Israel? If urine or something similar touched the bodies of the Children of Israel, they would cut off that part with scissors. A man forbade them from doing this, so he was subjected to the punishment of the grave."
