Mazidah bin Jabir narrates from his mother that during the caliphate of Hazrat Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him), I was once in the mosque of Kufa. At that time, our leader was Hazrat Abu Musa Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him). I heard him saying that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) has commanded to fast on the tenth of Muharram, so you should also fast.

Hazrat Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) reminded us of the prayer of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), which we used to perform with the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), but had forgotten or deliberately abandoned. He used to say "Allahu Akbar" every time he bowed (for ruku‘), when rising from bowing, and when going into prostration (sajdah).

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) that he set out on a journey of jihad with the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). At night, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) camped. Once, I woke up at night and did not find the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in his sleeping place. Various fears and doubts began to arise in my mind. I went out in search of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and met Hazrat Mu'adh (may Allah be pleased with him), who was in the same state as I was. Meanwhile, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) appeared coming from the front. We said, "O Messenger of Allah! (peace and blessings be upon him) You are in a war zone; we fear for your life. When you had some need, why did you not take someone with you?" The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "I heard a sound like that produced by a millstone or like the buzzing of bees. A messenger from my Lord came to me and gave me the choice between two things: that half of my Ummah would enter Paradise, or that I would be granted the right of intercession. So I preferred the aspect of intercession." Both said, "O Messenger of Allah! (peace and blessings be upon him) Pray to Allah that He includes us in your intercession." The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) prayed for them. Later, when these two informed other noble companions (may Allah be pleased with them) about this, they too began to come to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said, "O Messenger of Allah! (peace and blessings be upon him) Pray to Allah that He includes us in your intercession." The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would pray for them. When this became too frequent, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Every person who dies in such a state that he does not associate anyone with Allah will be included in my intercession."

Abu Sinan says that after burying my son, I was still in the grave when Abu Talha took my hand and pulled me out and said, "Shall I not give you glad tidings?" I said, "Why not?" He narrated to me, with his chain, this hadith of Hazrat Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Allah Almighty says to the Angel of Death, "O Angel of Death! Have you taken the soul of My servant's son? Have you taken the coolness of his eyes and a piece of his heart?" He says, "Yes." Allah Almighty asks, "Then what did My servant say?" They reply, "He praised You and recited 'Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un.'" Allah Almighty says, "Build a house for this person in Paradise and name it 'Bayt al-Hamd' (the House of Praise)." The previous hadith is also narrated through this second chain.
