It is narrated from Hazrat Atiyyah Qarazi (may Allah be pleased with him) that on the occasion of the Battle of Banu Qurayza, we were presented before the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and it was decided that whoever had grown pubic hair would be killed, and whoever had not grown pubic hair would be let go. I was among those who had not grown hair, so I was let go.

Hazrat Atiyyah (may Allah be pleased with him) says that on the day Hazrat Sa’d (may Allah be pleased with him) gave the verdict regarding Banu Qurayzah, I was a small boy; they did not find pubic hair grown on me, and for this reason, I am present among you today.

It is narrated from Hazrat Uqbah bin Harith (may Allah be pleased with him) that I married a woman. After that, a black woman came to us and said, "I have suckled both of you (therefore, you are foster brother and sister and this marriage is not valid)." I went to the service of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) and said, "I have married the daughter of so-and-so. After the marriage, a black woman came to us and said, 'I have suckled both of you,' even though she is lying." The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) turned his face away from this. I came from the front and said the same thing again, that she is lying. The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "How can you stay with this woman when that black woman claims she has suckled both of you? Leave her."

It is narrated from Hazrat Uqbah bin Harith (may Allah be pleased with him) that I married the daughter of Abi Ihab. After that, a black woman came to us and said, "I have suckled both of you (therefore, you are foster brother and sister and this marriage is not valid)." I went to the service of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) and submitted, "I have married the daughter of such and such a person. After the marriage, a black woman came to us and said, 'I have suckled both of you,' although she is lying." The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) turned his face away from this. I came from the right side, and the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) again turned his face away. I submitted, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! That woman is black?" The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "How can you stay with that woman now when this has been said?"

It is narrated from Hazrat Uqbah bin Harith (may Allah be pleased with him) that once Nu’aiman was brought to the service of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) on the accusation of drinking alcohol. The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) ordered all the men present in the house at that time, and they struck Nu’aiman with their hands, branches, and shoes. I was also among those who struck him.

It is narrated from Hazrat Uqbah bin Harith (may Allah be pleased with him) that once I performed the Asr prayer with the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). After concluding the prayer with salam, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) quickly stood up and went into the room of one of his noble wives. After a short while, he came out and saw that signs of astonishment were visible on the faces of the people. He said: "During the prayer, I remembered that a piece of silver was left with us. I did not like that it should remain with us until evening or night, so I have ordered it to be distributed." The previous hadith is also narrated through this second chain.

Narrated to us by Abu Ahmad, narrated to us by Umar ibn Sa'id, from Ibn Abi Mulaykah, from Uqbah ibn al-Harith, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, departed after he had prayed Asr, and he mentioned its meaning.

It is narrated from Abu Najeeh Salmi (may Allah be pleased with him) that we laid siege to the fort of Ta’if along with the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). I heard the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: Whoever shoots an arrow will have one rank in Paradise for it. So, on that day, I shot sixteen arrows. And I heard the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: Whoever shoots an arrow in the way of Allah, it is equal to freeing a slave. Whoever grows old in the way of Allah, his old age will be a source of light for him on the Day of Resurrection. And whoever shoots an arrow—whether it hits the target or misses—it is as if he has freed a slave from among the descendants of Isma’il. And whoever frees a Muslim slave, for every limb of that slave, it will be a means of freedom from Hell for him, and the same ruling applies to freeing a woman. It is narrated from Abu Najeeh Salmi (may Allah be pleased with him) that we laid siege to the fort of Ta’if along with the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). I heard the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: Whoever shoots an arrow will have one rank in Paradise for it. So, on that day, I shot sixteen arrows... Then the narrator mentioned the entire hadith.

Abd al-Wahhab narrated to us, from Sa'id, from Qatadah, from Salim ibn Abi al-Ja'd al-Ghatafani, from Ma'dan ibn Abi Talhah al-Ya'muri, from Abu Najih al-Sulami, who said: We besieged, along with the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, the fortress of al-Ta'if, and I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say: "Whoever shoots an arrow in the way of Allah, and it reaches its target, he will have a degree in Paradise." A man said: O Prophet of Allah, if I shoot and it reaches, will I have a degree in Paradise? He said: So he shot and it reached. He said: That day I reached sixteen arrows, and he mentioned its meaning.

It is narrated from Hazrat Sakhr Ghamidi (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to supplicate: "O Allah, bless my Ummah in their early hours." The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), whenever he sent out an army, would send it at the beginning of the day. The narrator of the hadith, Hazrat Sakhr (may Allah be pleased with him), was a merchant; he also used to send his workers early in the morning. As a result, he acquired so much wealth and property that he did not know where to keep it.
