It is narrated from Ubaid bin Umair (may Allah have mercy on him) that once Hazrat Abu Musa Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him) greeted Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) three times, but did not receive permission, so he left. After a short while, Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "Did I not just hear the voice of Abdullah bin Qais?" The people said, "Yes." Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) sent a messenger after him asking, "Why did you leave?" He replied, "I sought permission three times, and when I was not granted permission, I left. This is what we have been commanded to do." Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "Present a witness for this, otherwise I will punish you." Hazrat Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) went to a gathering of the Ansar. They said, "Even the youngest among us can testify to this." So Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) went with him and testified to it. Then Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "This command of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was hidden from me; the affairs of the markets kept me heedless of it."

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Allah Almighty created Hazrat Adam from a handful of soil which He gathered from all over the earth. That is why the children of Adam are like the earth itself: some are white, some are red, some are black, and some are in between. Likewise, some are impure and some are good, some are soft and some are sad, etc. The previous hadith is also narrated through this second chain.

Hazrat Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) reminded us of the prayer of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) which we used to perform with the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), but which we had forgotten or deliberately abandoned. He used to say "Allahu Akbar" every time he bowed (for ruku‘), when rising from bowing, and when going into prostration (sajdah).

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Allah Almighty does not sleep, nor does it befit Him to sleep. He lowers and raises the scale. His veil is fire. If He were to remove His veil, everything within the reach of His sight would burn. Then Abu Ubaidah recited this verse: "It was proclaimed that blessing has been bestowed on whoever is in the fire and whoever is around it, and Allah, the Lord of all the worlds, is free from every defect."

Khwaja Hasan (may Allah have mercy on him) says that Hazrat Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) had a brother who actively participated in acts of discord. He would forbid him, but he would not desist. He said to him, "If I thought that even a little advice would be enough for you, which in my opinion is less than this (I would still advise you)." And the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When two Muslims come face to face with swords and one of them kills the other, both the killer and the killed will go to Hell." Someone asked, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! The matter of the killer is understandable, but what about the killed one?" The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "He also wanted to kill his companion."
