بَابُ وَدَاعِ الْبَيْتِ
Farewell to the House (Kaaba)
Hadith Number: 820B1
قال مالك في قول عمر بن الخطاب: فإن آخر النسك الطواف بالبيت، إن ذلك فيما نرى والله اعلم، لقول الله تبارك وتعالى ومن يعظم شعائر الله فإنها من تقوى القلوب سورة الحج آية 32 وقال: ثم محلها إلى البيت العتيق سورة الحج آية 33 فمحل الشعائر كلها، وانقضاؤها إلى البيت العتيق
Imam Malik, may Allah have mercy on him, said that when Sayyiduna Umar, may Allah be pleased with him, said that the last act of worship is the Tawaf of the Ka'bah, what is meant by this is that Allah, Glorious and Exalted is He, says: "Whoever honors the symbols of Allah, then it is from the piety of the hearts." Then He says: "Their return is to the Ka'bah." So the culmination of all the rites and acts of worship of Hajj is at the Ka'bah.

Hadith Number: 821
وحدثني، عن وحدثني، عن مالك، عن يحيى بن سعيد ، ان عمر بن الخطاب " رد رجلا من مر الظهران لم يكن ودع البيت حتى ودع"
It is narrated from Yahya bin Saeed that Sayyiduna Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) turned a man back from Marr az-Zahran (a place eighteen miles from Makkah) because he had not performed the Tawaf al-Wada (Farewell Tawaf).

Hadith Number: 822
وحدثني، عن مالك، عن هشام بن عروة ، عن ابيه ، انه قال: " من افاض فقد قضى الله حجه، فإنه إن لم يكن حبسه شيء، فهو حقيق ان يكون آخر عهده الطواف بالبيت، وإن حبسه شيء او عرض له، فقد قضى الله حجه"
Hazrat Urwah bin Zubair said that whoever has performed the Tawaf al-Ifadah (Tawaf al-Ziyarah), Allah has completed his Hajj. Now, if there is nothing preventing him, he should perform the Tawaf al-Wada' at the time of departure, and if there is any hindrance or excuse, then the Hajj is already complete.

Hadith Number: 822B1
قال مالك: ولو ان رجلا جهل ان يكون آخر عهده الطواف بالبيت، حتى صدر لم ار عليه شيئا إلا ان يكون قريبا، فيرجع فيطوف بالبيت، ثم ينصرف إذا كان قد افاض
Imam Malik, may Allah have mercy on him, said that if a person did not know the ruling regarding the Farewell Tawaf, and he returned from Makkah without performing the Farewell Tawaf, then it is not obligatory for him to return, except in the case that he is near Makkah, then he should return and perform the Tawaf, provided that he has already performed the Tawaf al-Ziyarah.

Hadith Number: 823
حدثني يحيى، عن مالك، عن ابي الاسود محمد بن عبد الرحمن بن نوفل ، عن عروة بن الزبير ، عن زينب بنت ابي سلمة ، عن ام سلمة زوج النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم، انها قالت: شكوت إلى رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم اني اشتكي، فقال: " طوفي من وراء الناس وانت راكبة"، قالت: فطفت راكبة بعيري، ورسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم حينئذ يصلي إلى جانب البيت، وهو يقرا:" بالطور وكتاب مسطور"
Umm al-Mu'mineen Sayyida Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that I complained to the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) about my illness, so he (peace be upon him) said: "Perform the Tawaf riding behind the men." Sayyida Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) said that I performed the Tawaf and the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) was at that time praying in a corner of the Ka'bah, and he was reciting Surah «﴿وَالطُّورِ وَكِتَابٍ مَسْطُورٍ﴾» .

Hadith Number: 824
وحدثني، عن وحدثني، عن مالك، عن ابي الزبير المكي ، ان ابا ماعز الاسلمي عبد الله بن سفيان اخبره، انه كان جالسا مع عبد الله بن عمر فجاءته امراة تستفتيه، فقالت: إني اقبلت اريد ان اطوف بالبيت حتى إذا كنت بباب المسجد هرقت الدماء، فرجعت حتى ذهب ذلك عني، ثم اقبلت حتى إذا كنت عند باب المسجد هرقت الدماء، فرجعت حتى ذهب ذلك عني، ثم اقبلت حتى إذا كنت عند باب المسجد هرقت الدماء، فقال عبد الله بن عمر :" إنما ذلك ركضة من الشيطان، فاغتسلي، ثم استثفري بثوب، ثم طوفي"
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Ma'az Aslami (may Allah be pleased with him) that he was sitting with Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them). Meanwhile, a woman came to ask him a question. The woman said: I intended to perform Tawaf of the Ka'bah. When I reached the door of the mosque, I started bleeding, so I went back. When the bleeding stopped, I came again. When I reached the door of the mosque, I started bleeding again, so I went back. When the bleeding stopped, I came again. When I reached the door of the mosque, I started bleeding again. Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) said: This is a kick from Satan. So perform ghusl, then tie a cloth around your private part, and perform Tawaf.

Hadith Number: 825
وحدثني، عن وحدثني، عن مالك، انه بلغه، ان سعد بن ابي وقاص" كان إذا دخل مكة مراهقا، خرج إلى عرفة، قبل ان يطوف بالبيت وبين الصفا، والمروة، ثم يطوف بعد ان يرجع" . قال مالك: وذلك واسع إن شاء الله. وسئل مالك، هل يقف الرجل في الطواف بالبيت الواجب عليه، يتحدث مع الرجل؟ فقال: لا احب ذلك له. قال مالك: لا يطوف احد بالبيت ولا بين الصفا، والمروة إلا وهو طاهر
Imam Malik (may Allah have mercy on him) was informed that when Sayyiduna Sa’d bin Abi Waqqas (may Allah be pleased with him) would come to Makkah and the ninth (of Dhul-Hijjah) would approach, he would go to ‘Arafat before performing Tawaf and Sa’i. Then when he returned from there, he would perform Tawaf and Sa’i.

Imam Malik, may Allah have mercy on him, said: It is permissible (to omit the Tawaf al-Qudum due to shortage of time). Insha’Allah.

Imam Malik, may Allah have mercy on him, was asked whether it is permissible to stop during the obligatory Tawaf to talk to someone. He replied that he does not like it.
