Imam Malik, may Allah have mercy on him, said that if a person throws pebbles or runs between Safa and Marwah without ablution, it is not obligatory for him to repeat it, but he should not do so deliberately.

It is narrated from Hazrat Asim bin Adi that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, permitted the camel owners to spend the night and stay anywhere except Mina. They should perform the stoning (rami) on the Day of Sacrifice (Yawm al-Nahr), then on the second or third day, both, and if they stay, then also perform the stoning on the fourth day.

It is narrated from Hazrat Ata bin Abi Rabah that in the earliest times (that is, in the era of the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him), the camel herder was permitted to perform the stoning at night.

Imam Malik, may Allah have mercy on him, said that the hadith of Asim bin Adi, in which the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, granted concession to camel herders regarding the stoning of the Jamarat, its explanation is that they should perform the stoning on the Day of Sacrifice (Yawm al-Nahr), then when the eleventh day passes, on the twelfth day they should perform the stoning for the eleventh and also for the twelfth. Then, if they depart on the twelfth, that is better; otherwise, if they stay until the thirteenth, they should perform the stoning with the people and then depart.

It is narrated from Nafi that the niece of Safiyyah bint Abi Ubaid experienced postnatal bleeding at Muzdalifah, so she and Safiyyah stayed there until they reached Mina, and the sun had set on the Day of Sacrifice. Then Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) instructed both of them to throw the pebbles when they arrived at Mina, and he did not impose any penalty upon them.

Imam Malik, may Allah have mercy on him, was asked: What if a person forgets to perform the stoning (rami) at any of the jamarat on any of the days of Mina, until evening comes? He replied: Whenever he remembers, whether by night or by day, he should perform the stoning, just as with prayer—if someone forgets and then remembers by night or by day, he should perform it. However, if he has reached Mecca and then remembers, or if he remembers after leaving Mina, then a sacrifice (hady) becomes obligatory.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that Sayyiduna Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) delivered a sermon at Arafat and taught them the rites of Hajj, and said to them: When you come to Mina and have thrown the pebbles, then all things that were forbidden to you in the state of Ihram become permissible for you, except having intercourse with women and applying perfume. None of you should have intercourse or apply perfume until he has performed the Tawaf of the Ka'bah.

It is narrated from Umm al-Mu'mineen Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that we set out with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) in the year of the Farewell Pilgrimage, so we entered into ihram for ‘Umrah. Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:“Whoever has a sacrificial animal with him should combine the ihram of Hajj and ‘Umrah, and then not exit ihram until he has completed both.”Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said: I arrived in Makkah while in a state of menstruation, so I did not perform tawaf nor the sa’i between Safa and Marwah, and I complained to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:“Undo your hair and comb it, and abandon the ‘Umrah, and enter into ihram for Hajj.”I did as I was told. When we had completed Hajj, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) sent me with Abdur Rahman bin Abi Bakr to Tan‘eem. I performed ‘Umrah, and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:“This ‘Umrah is in place of your previous ‘Umrah.”So those who had entered into ihram for ‘Umrah became lawful after performing tawaf and sa’i, then performed another tawaf for Hajj when they returned from Mina. And those who had entered into ihram for Hajj, or for both Hajj and ‘Umrah together, performed only one tawaf.
