Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that one day the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) delivered a sermon to us and recited Surah Sad. Then, when he recited the verse of prostration, he descended from the pulpit and performed prostration, so we also performed prostration. Then he recited this Surah again, and when he reached the verse of prostration, we prepared for prostration. When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) saw us ready (for prostration), he said: "This is the mention of the repentance of a Prophet, but I see you ready for prostration." Therefore, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) descended and performed prostration, and we also performed prostration.
Imam Abu Bakr (may Allah have mercy on him) says that a student of Ibn Wahb, while narrating this hadith from Ibn Wahb through the chain of 'Amr bin Harith, added Ishaq bin 'Abdullah Abu Farwah between Sa'id bin Abi Hilal and 'Iyad. However, our companions do not consider the hadith of Ishaq as evidence or proof. And in my opinion, he made a mistake by inserting Ishaq bin 'Abdullah into this chain.

Narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) was delivering the sermon on the pulpit on the day of Jumu’ah when a man asked,“O Messenger of Allah, when will the Hour (Day of Judgment) come?”The companions signaled to him to remain silent. But he asked the same question three times. Each time, the companions signaled to him to remain silent. Then, after the third time, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:“Woe to you! What preparation have you made for the Hour?”He replied,“The love of Allah and His Messenger.”The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:“Indeed, you will be with those whom you love.”Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) remained silent for a while. Then a young boy passed by. Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I say that he was my age; he had reached puberty or was close to it. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:“Where is the one who asked about the Hour?”He said,“I am here.”The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:“If this boy lives out his full life, he will not die without seeing the signs of the Hour.”

Sayyiduna Jarir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that when I came to Madinah Munawwarah, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was delivering a sermon. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "The best person from Yemen will enter through this door or this path among you. Be aware, there will be the mark of a king on his face." Sayyiduna Jarir (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I thanked Allah Almighty for this favor and blessing.

Sayyiduna Jarir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that when I reached near Madinah Munawwarah to meet the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), I made my she-camel sit down, opened my bag, and wore my garment. Then I entered the mosque while the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was delivering a sermon. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) greeted me with salam. The people started staring at me. So I asked the person sitting next to me, "O Abdullah, did the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say something about me (that all these people are looking at me so attentively)?" He replied, "Yes, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) mentioned you in a very good way." During his sermon, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) remembered something and said: "The best person from Yemen will enter through this door or this path, and there will be a sign of kingship on his face." Sayyiduna Jarir (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I thanked Allah Almighty for this favor.

It is narrated from Iyad bin Abdullah bin Sa’d bin Abi Sarh that Sayyiduna Abu Sa’id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) entered the mosque on Friday while Marwan bin Hakam was delivering the sermon. So Sayyiduna Abu Sa’id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) stood up and started praying (the two rak’ahs of Tahiyyat al-Masjid). Then Marwan’s guards came to make him sit down, but he refused to sit until he had completed his prayer. Then, when Marwan finished and left, we came to Sayyiduna Abu Sa’id (may Allah be pleased with him) and said to him,“May Allah have mercy on you, these people were about to treat you badly.”He replied,“After seeing the command of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), I would never leave these two rak’ahs.”Then he explained that a man came in a very distressed state on Friday while the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was delivering the sermon. So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered the companions to give charity to this man, but the companions did not have any clothes to give him. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered that he be given two garments, and he instructed him, so he performed two rak’ahs. Then he came the next Friday while the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was delivering the sermon, so the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered charity to be given to him. So a man gave him one of his two sheets, but the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) rebuked him loudly and said,“Take your sheet back.”Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said,“This man entered the mosque in a state of severe distress, so I ordered the people to give charity to him, but they did not have any clothes, so I ordered that he be given two garments. Then today he came to the mosque, so I ordered charity to be given, and this man gave him one of his sheets.”Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered that man to perform two rak’ahs of prayer.

Sayyiduna Abu Rifa’ah ‘Adawi رضي الله عنه narrates that I reached the Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم while he was delivering a sermon. So I said,“O Messenger of Allah, a stranger has come to ask about his religion, he does not know what his religion is.”So the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم turned towards me and left his sermon. Then a chair was brought to the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم — I think its legs were made of iron. Humaid says: I think he saw the legs as black pieces, so he thought they were iron. Then the Noble Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم began to teach me the knowledge that Allah Almighty had taught him. Then the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم resumed his sermon and completed the rest of it.

Sayyiduna Buraidah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was delivering a sermon when Sayyiduna Hasan and Husayn (may Allah be pleased with them both) arrived. Both of them were wearing red shirts. They would stumble and fall due to their clothes getting entangled with their feet, and then get up again. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) descended from the pulpit and picked them up, then seated them in front of himself and said: "Allah and His Messenger have spoken the truth; indeed, your wealth and your children are a trial for you. I saw these two and I could not remain patient." Then he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) resumed his sermon.
