It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man asked him about washing the head. He said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) had more hair than you and was purer.

Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) says: We, the wives of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), used to go out on journeys with him. This was our condition both in the state of ihram and without ihram.

Ubaidah bin Umair says: When Sayyidah Aisha (RA) heard that Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (RA) instructs women to undo their hair while performing ghusl, she said: "I am greatly surprised at Ibn Amr; he instructs women to undo their hair while performing ghusl. Why does he not instruct them to shave their heads as well? The matter is that I and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to perform ghusl together from a single vessel, and I would pour water over my head only three times."
