بَابُ هَيْئَاتِ السُّجُودِ وَكَيْفَ الْهَوِيِّ إِلَيْهِ
Chapter on the Postures of Prostration and How to Go Down to It
Hadith Number: 1729
عن ميمونة زوج النبي صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم قالت: كان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم إذا سجد جافى حتى يرى من خلفه بياض إبطيه
The wife of the Messenger, Sayyida Maymunah (may Allah be pleased with her), says: When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) performed prostration, he would spread (his arms) so much that whoever was behind him could see the whiteness of his armpits.

Hadith Number: 1730
عن البراء بن عازب رضي الله عنه قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم: ((إذا سجدت فضع كفيك وارفع مرفقيك))
Sayyiduna Bara’ bin ‘Azib (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When you perform prostration, place your palms on the ground and raise your elbows.

Hadith Number: 1731
عن وائل بن حجر رضي الله عنه قال: رايت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم يسجد على انفه مع جبهته
Sayyiduna Wa’il bin Hujr (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) prostrating on his forehead along with his nose.

Hadith Number: 1732
(وعنه من طريق ثان) قال رايت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم إذا سجد وضع انفه على الارض
(Second chain) They said: I saw the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, when he performed prostration, he would place his nose on the ground.

Hadith Number: 1733
وعنه ايضا انه راى النبي صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم يسجد بين كفيه (وفي رواية) ويداه قريبتان من اذنيه
It is also narrated from Sayyiduna Wa'il bin Hujr (may Allah be pleased with him) that he saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) prostrating between his palms. And in another narration, it is mentioned that his hands were near his ears.

Hadith Number: 1734
عن ابن عباس رضي الله عنه ان النبي صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم قال لرجل: ((وإذا سجدت فامكن جبهتك من الارض حتى تجد حجم الارض))
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to a man: When you prostrate, place your forehead on the ground in such a way that you feel the solidity of the earth.

Chapter on the Limbs of Prostration and the Prohibition of Tucking Hair and Garment
Hadith Number: 1735
عن ابن عباس رضي الله عنه عن النبي صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم انه قال: ((امرت ان اسجد على سبعة ولا اكف شعرا ولا ثوبا))
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I have been commanded to prostrate on seven parts and not to wrap the hair and clothes.

Hadith Number: 1736
(وعنه من طريق ثان) قال: امر رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم ان يسجد على سبع ونهي ان يكف شعره وثيابه
(Second chain) They say that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, was commanded to prostrate on seven parts and was forbidden from wrapping his hair and clothes.

Hadith Number: 1737
(وعنه من طريق ثالث) ان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم قال: ((امرت ان اسجد على سبعة اعظم، الجبهة واشار بيده إلى انفه واليدين والركبتين واطراف الاصابع ولا اكف الثياب ولا الشعر))
(Third chain) The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: I have been commanded to prostrate on seven parts: the forehead—along with this, he, peace and blessings be upon him, pointed towards his nose—both hands, both knees, and the edges of the toes (of both feet), and I have also been commanded not to gather up the clothes and hair.

Hadith Number: 1738
عن العباس (بن عبد المطلب) رضي الله عنه قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم: ((إذا سجد الرجل سجد معه سبعة اراب وجهه وكفاه وركبتاه وقدماه))
Sayyiduna Abbas bin Abdul Muttalib narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When a person performs prostration, seven parts of his body prostrate along with him: the face, both palms, both knees, and both feet.
